Join the challenge! Porn detox!

Conclusion can’t be drawn to be honest because 6 days isn’t long enough time to get such a positive effect.

But it’s a start no doubt and good for you! Now let’s keep this challenge going; welcome determination.

TheStallion it takes about 7 days to get back on the saddle ;) After that you should be back to before the relapse. Please keep us updated because the updates are essential for each other.

Talk about results! Heheh. Keep it up, so to speak.

OK, 3 days down for me. I knew these three would be easy, cause I was so busy over the weekend. The next week will be pretty tough, though. I’ll post updates along the way.

Day 4…haven’t had the urge to put the porn on since the relapse. This is probably because I had a weekend of amazing sex with the fiancee. I was really worried that the relapse would affect my performance (even though it was only one porn viewing session in 2 months). Luckily, the opposite happened. I was completely focused on her each time and I really noticed (and she probably did too) the difference in me since starting PE/porn abstinence. The weekend was so hot that I kind of want to jerk off to the steamy visuals from it all, but I think I’m gonna hold off on that too for a bit.

2/11/11: 7.75" BPEL, 6" BSEG, 5.5" MSEG

6/4/11: 8.4" BPEL, 6.375" BSEG, 5.8" MSEG

Just started again, another new measurement coming soon; I'm pretty close to that June '11 though.

Day 4 down, starting Day 5

Feeling really good about this progress. This is the longest I’ve made it since relapsing repeatedly, and I’m past the 3-4 day mark which is really difficult. I think the key is keeping busy during those days, otherwise they can just be very very boring. It wasn’t even that difficult as long as I filled the day up with other activities.

Good job Stallion - keep it up.

I’m suffering from this as well after last weekend. What does everyone think - counts as porn or not?

My status thread

No, your mind is your mind. Porn is direct visual stimulation.

I managed to detox from all porn except for the great stuff I locked up in my imagination for three whole weeks. Then some friends brought ne to a porn store to look around. Originally I was only looking for a sleeve I could trim and clamp with and at that time all the porn in the store grossed me out but I broke and and got three disks for a great deal. When I got to my friends house it was on, then 3 seconds later I felt like shit. Now I’m at the point where I can use porn to pe if I’m having trouble getting hard but only for a minute or two before I shut it off and continue with my program. Anything longer and my add clicks on and I start wondering if that is the girl I knew from college and start feeling bad for the dude that has to clean up after the set because you know that’s a job you nobody likes.

Day 24, been having consistent sex which is keeping my head clear ( very lucky to say the least ) Last few nights and now today I feel the urge to watch porn weighing heavily on me. I know if I can break through it for a few more days it might loosen its grip on me… just a little.

I want to add hear that one of the reasons I wanted to stop viewing porn was because of my fear that I had desensitized not only my brain but my dick as well. I had read in a thread about the fleshlight ( on this site ) that it helped someone in regaining sensitivity. It hadn’t occured to me until then that I possibly had desensitized myself somewhat through masturbation ( partially because I hardly used lube for most of the time… less clean up, easier to hide it, etc. etc. ) Well since starting my detox I have carefully focused on sensations and came to the conclusion that yes I did ruin some of my sensitivity. I realized that when I would get a blow job I couldn’t feel the tongue or lips on my dick only that it was warm and wet, now I can close my eyes and make out her set of lips and where her tongue is on my shaft. Also during sex I could never feel the tip of my dick or feel the inside of her very well. Now however I am happy to report that I can feel much more than before. I still think I need to wait for all of the sensitivity to come back but I am just so happy at how much more I can feel now that it helps keep me off porn :)

Interesting question. I was thinking just two days ago: what is porn? What can we define porn? Maybe that’s not only esplicit images, but also mind attitude.

DAY 4

Maybe it’s easier for me to avoid porn because I’ve hit rock bottom. I’ve been extremely aloof around anybody and everybody; including family.
And I don’t have any actual friends as a result of being ‘unreachable’. Any conversation was extremely awkward for me if it was beyond about 10 seconds.

I did some research on porn and masturbation online. Came across a lot of websites explaining how masturbating lead to social awkwardness and premature aging. But they were all too complex for me to actually grasp the points they were making.

Then about two months ago someone linked to yourbrainonporn.com for somebody else. I couldn’t stop reading the articles and personal experiences on that website. Soon after I decided to abstain from porn and masturbation for a long period and have done so till now (even though I did jerk off last week).

Most of the social anxiety is almost gone; I can look people in the eye now and could listen to what they are saying without thinking how awkward I must look. I don’t sweat whenever I’m in a regular social situation or get nervous. I don’t get mad at simple confrontations and feel more relaxed and sensible in arguments or debates.

I also have more stamina and feel stronger in sports. I play soccer and I could run like a teenager all game long which is normally about 2.5 hours.

Those are some of my motivations to stick to it and not give in :) Together with the promise of getting in a relationship which was impossible before the detox.

DAY 4

Scarsick,

I think it’s the former only. I’m sorry, but when I fantasize in my head about sticking my face between my fiancee’s legs while I’m at work is not only harmless, it’s consistent with human behavior for thousands of years. I don’t see any problems with fantasizing in your head about realistic scenarios.

Agreed. Anything in your imagination is pretty much free game.

That being said, imagining porn scenes is probably going to make it harder for most people to quit, and instead serve as a trigger to actually go watch porn. Imagining real-life situations is totally fine, healthy, and should be encouraged (as long as that also doesn’t become a trigger). TheStallion has mentioned many times that determining your triggers is important, so if fantasizing about real life scenarios triggers porn use you should avoid it (even though it’s not really porn).

I’ve actually indulged in porn a few times over the past week during PE sessions after at least going a month or two without watching it. I got to be honest, it still does the trick for instant wood, but I find it kind of boring. Before I would be foaming at the mouth to see some chick get plowed but now Im like “eh…”

That’s what I found. After ages without, I’d go on a site and after a couple of minutes I’d start flicking around from scene to scene, thinking “boring - why do I bother”. The urge to watch is always far greater than the satisfaction of watching. Bit like smoking really!
