How to get your wind back?

How to get your wind back?

I didn’t know quite where to post this but I figured in a round and about way it can help sexually also.

I had asthma as a kid but I’ve only had problems with it sporadically throughout my adult life. If I have problems it usually comes up when cold weather hits for the first time, late October into November and such. I’ve never had the greatest endurance in the world but it’s been ok.

But this year, for the first time I can ever remember, I’ve had two rather severe colds. Usually I might have one slight cold a year but that’s been all. I had one in May and another one earlier this month that I have just recently gotten over. Along with these colds I’ve had two rather severe attacks of bronchitis as well. This has left me with practically no wind at all.

What I’m wondering is if you guys can suggest to me some exercises that will allow me to increase my lung capacity and endurance?

F1, go see a pulmonary specialist and or talk to the respiratory therapist at your local hospital, and see if you can get a Voldyne. It is a machine that you use to do breathing exercises with and it is a manual machine, your lungs have to do all of the work.

The respiratory therapist might also be able to give you other suggestions as to breathing exercises that you can do.

Likely he/she would recommend ti-chi. This is what I use to do to help with the bronchitis I had that would never go away. Practicing easy on the body ti-chi help me lick that problem.

Speak softly carry a big dick, I'm mean stick!

Ti-chi will work, as well as yoga. But, we can only make recommendations, a doctor has to prescribe the proper therapies.

F1, also if you are having problems with endurance because of the breathing, not only seek out a respiratory therapist, but get a referral to a physical therapist, and the two of them can team up to create a good program for you.

Spooky. I am just about to look up asthma and there is a new thread on TP. I just had an asthma attack last week. Which ended up in me ending up in an ambulance and a hospitalization. Worrying at the time, but also a deep relief that I know what has been affecting my breathing for the last few weeks (I presumed it was a cold).

I am more or less doing exactly what sunshinekid just said. Got an appointment with the specialist and another appointment has to be made with the allergy specialist for work. I am off for my flu shot next week. I have my yoga mat out as well after not doing any for over 2 years. I cannot wait until I get a proper exercise routine geared to my breathing sorted out. At the minute, I am just doing lots of walking and keeping very active but not getting out of breath.

The older you get the exercise and diet conscious you should get. Cardio+weightlifting and some Hormone replacement might work.
