Help wIth test results (Testosterone)

On 1/28/16 age 29
Serum Testosterone 377ng/dl
Normal range 348-1197

On 11/30/16 age 30
Total Testosterone 351ng/dl
Normal range 250-827

I’ve shed around 40lbs and packed on lots of muscle in that time span. First test was in the afternoon, 2nd test was morning. I was under a lot of stress on the day of the 2nd test.
Questions
Because I used different labs with different ranges, would that mean anything to my T level?
How do my levels go down but my erectile dysfunction is gone?
Why is getting into shape hurting my T level?
Could my stress level at the day of 2nd test cause the low number?

When I have my next round of testing it will be at the same place as my first round of testing.
Any insight or encouragement would be welcomed. My urologist told me it’s just a number, but I’m in the 65-70 year old range at 30.

Lifting weights "uses" testosterone. Your body is trying to keep up with the demand. Strength training increases that demand.

Here’s a decent source:

Size anxiety is the mere response to viewing other males as a threat and the corresponding jealousy it causes. Realize that your feelings are a response to a perceived threat and the anxiety will disappear. My log: Big Booty Extravaganza (and Log)

That was a good read. I’m not doing replacement therapy anytime soon.
I guess it is really just a number though.
Since I started weight training my depression is gone and my sex drive is coming back. EQ always 85%+ when needed. I’m just blown away by the low number because it’s not how I feel.
Makes me worry a bit about how fast I will deteriorate after age 40. Runs in the family.
I will fight it as long as I can and as hard as I can.

That’s seems a bit low to me. I had mine checked a little over a year ago and it was just over 600 and that was at 42 years of age. Granted, I wasn’t lifting weights at the time. The good thing is low T can be fixed.

You said you dropped 40 lbs. Are you now trim and fit or still overweight?

I have low T and have been tested and treated many times.

Your levels aren’t too far apart, between tests. Normal variability/margin of error could explain it in and of itself.

T levels are lowest in the morning. This also explains the slight dip.

The different labs should have no effect on results. Just be sure you’re comparing apples with apples, I.e., total T with total T and free T with free T.

If your ED is gone now, you’re lucky. Unless you have other symptoms that you think T is responsible for, no need to worry with the #s. The proof is in the pudding. Way to go with the losing weight! I need to do the same.

Me and a friend both tested low T and we both workout seriously. We are both in our 20s. We both cured it by taking 30mg of zinc citrate at night on an empty stomach before bed. Working out depletes your vitamin stores and you will not get enough zinc or the right kind from a multivitamin that is why you must take a zinc supplement separately. Zinc is VERY important for test production. Most lifters are zinc deficient that is why a lot end up on the shot because doctors are too lazy to try to figure out the cause. But after we restores our zinc we shot back up to youthful numbers in the high end of the range.

According to my BMI yes I am 5lbs overweight. I can’t base off of that due to my muscle mass.

I’m getting around 30mg zinc daily from my test booster and multivitamin. I’m only getting 7.5 mg at night. I will look into a zinc supplement.

There are so many variables that just taking a certain vitamin, or doing this or doing that may not work for you just because it worked for someone else.
The body’s hormone system is a complex well oiled machine.

Check out this forum. It’s mostly based on TRT but even if you aren’t going on trt it has a wealth of information and guys that know much more than I do and are willing to help.
The first thing they will ask you is to post a picture of your labwork reports so you may as well do that in your first post.

Excel Male TRT Forum

Thanks. I will check that place out.

Drop the test booster and use zinc citrate in capsule form. Multivitamin zinc doesn’t count. I was taking a multivitamin with 30mg of zinc the entire time and still went deficient because it isn’t absorbed well and competes with other minerals. If you dig deep into my old posts you will find years ago where I had my problem and posted it here. Doctor was ready to put me on trt.

Or you can just leave the test booster and add 30mg zinc citrate before bed which is most important.

It’s worth a shot

I felt a difference in my workout recovery time in two weeks and after 3 months my numbers were in the high end of the scale.

That’s a serious claim. I already ordered some.

Any results at all would be great.
