There is no cure for genital warts only ways of treating them or having them removed. For some people they go away on their own and do not come back. For others they don’t go away and do come back after being removed. Sometimes many times a year or it could be several years before they come back. Even when not present the virus remains dormant in your skin and can still be contagious. You should be responsible and let every future sexual partner you have know this in advance to keep from spreading it.

Either way first you should have it looked at by a doctor to make sure that it really is a genital wart. There are several treatments that can be done. Laser, freezing, surgical removal, and chemical ways to treat it such as a drug called condylox or aldara. I had a friend who had warts and everything that was tried failed. The warts kept coming back.

He eventually sought out less expensive holistic treatments and the one he said worked for him was putting apple cider vinegar on it about 3-4 times a day for about a month and the wart went away and it was far less painlful then other treatments. He says the warts still do return but he catches it early and retreats it with the vinegar and it’s gone with in a week or so if he catches it soon enough. I have also read that bleach, and baking soda past can work too.

So I guess if you are really sure that it is definitely a wart and don’t plan on going to a doctor even though you really should about it I would try the vinegar since it doesn’t cost very much. If you do try the vinegar and the warts get bigger or don’t start shrinking within a few weeks I strongly recommend going to a doctor because I have read that when it’s your first episode the best chance to have it not come back is getting removed early. I hope this helps.

Thx for the comments guys.I’m bout to go to boot camp for the navy n I figured I would go to the doctor then after boot.I read that sumtimes the virus goes away on it’s own.is there anyone out there who has had hpv n now you don’t .I just feel like my prime days of messin around have been cut short bcuz I’m not the type who could give someone hpv n not care.that would haunt me n my sleep knowing I spread a virus.

I can only tell you this. I don’t know if I do or do not have HPV as I have never had any warts but it is possible that I carry the virus because I know for a fact that I have had sex with women who been known to have them. Unfortunately there are no tests or that I know of for a man for HPV other than a biopsy of a present wart. Women can be tested for it through a pap smear.

I know how you feel about ” just feel like my prime days of messin around have been cut short ” I have genital herpes and was in the same boat. My dating life sucked. Every time I started to feel close to a girl and I would tell her about my situation our relationship progression toward a more intimate and sexual one came to a halt.

I just kept in mind that I am 1 out of 5 and there must be chicks out there like this too, after all I got this from one. I am fortunate enough to finally find another woman who has this as well. My suggestion to you would be do the same. Just keep dating. Keep a positive mind. Be honest. More than likely you will find a girl who is in the same situation and there won’t be an issue. Alternately there are STD dating sights http://www.mpwh.com/ and http://www.positivesingles.com/ . My friend who has HPV posted on craiglist.com in the dating area. He did not post his pic but he just posted what kind of girls he’s attracted to a description of himself and his situation about his STD.

My main point is your situation could be worse like having hepatitis or HIV/AIDS. Don’t stress you self or worry too much there’s lots of couples who one partner has an STD and the other doesn’t or like I said just find someone who is the same boat as you.

I was told by a (female) doctor that the HPV strain that produces visible warts is the one that is least dangerous, i.e. it doesn’t lead to cervical cancer in women. She also said that although you will always have the virus, your body’s immune system will eventually get control of the visible warts and outbreaks will diminish.

Aldara (Imiquimod) cream is the first choice medication prescribed by doctors. it works by getting inside the wart and causing an immune reaction by the body that kills it. It is said to work on about 50% of warts. A specialist in this field told me that permeability of the skin is a key factor in the effectiveness of this treatment. A good strategy is to file down the warts with an emery board prior to applying the cream, even to the point of making them bleed, thus ensuring maximum absorption. This can magnify side effects such as a rash on the scrotum or flu-like feelings for 24 hours, but it 100% kills the warts. Immune boosters such as Echinachea and zinc can help.

One other thing, if you continue to post using text speak it won’t be very long before you feel some heat from the mods here.

I have HPV (visible warts) as well for going on three years now. It got real bad for a while but now it is under control.

It’s something you’ll come to live with. I’ve read in many places, and my doctor has told me as well, that HPV is something you’ll have for life. That said my outbreaks have gradually lessened and I see maybe one or two warts every 4-6 months. As far as the Aldara goes, I just lance my warts with a pin and apply apple cider vinegar. Burns the warts right off but be VERY careful using apple cider vinegar if you have sensitive skin. Test on a small patch of skin on your arm or something before applying to the genitals. In my experience using the vinegar, the warts never come back in the same spot. So basically that whole paragraph reiterated what irishjim said :)
