Have diabetes and ED

12

First post after a lot of reading here. I am 68, have ED, am diabetic, about to quit smoking and have backed off the beer. Wife of is 53. Next month we’ll celebrate our 24Th anniversary. More in love with her than ever. We are blessed to enjoy excellent communications including candid discussions of our sexual wants, needs and desires. Plus, she is the reason I get up in the morning and by her TLC conduct, I am obviously her’s.

Until a year ago, before the ED kicked in, we enjoyed frequent and wonderful sex. We had hoped it was was a temporary issue but the evidence is in that I have a serious ED problem. A bit frustrating not being able to satisfy my lovely blue eyed blond registered nurse who knows all the buttons to push and strings to pull. She continues to teach me about her private self and we gently experiment in the mutual effort to deal with the ED.

Several weeks ago we discussed at length our sexual life since day one up to the moment. There was a time when she would wear me out and she wanted more so we talked about it and got some toys to spice up her almost daily masturbation routines. The vibrators and dildos were her second choice as she preferred my penis that was a nice fit for her. Around 5.5 to 6” erect with about 5” girth. She eventually tired of the toys and disposed of them. We agreed to order some new toys because of my ED and she urged me to get both a penis pump and a hollow dildo intended for victims of ED.

When all arrived last week we had fun opening the packages that included all we had agreed upon plus a couple surprises for her. The latter being a guy thing :~) It’s my guess the following session lasted about 3 hours or so as we tried everything out including her watching my first use of the penis pump. For as long as we can recall she has always been able to suck on her nipples but we had never experimented with pumping. Well, she used the penis pump on them and her vulva and so enjoyed those new sensations we’re shopping for the female pumping items. Although we’re older she still has a beautiful and sensitive mound she pleasures the washing machine with and her gorgeous vulva that is as symmetric as that of a much younger lady. All was to no avail in terms of my getting a satisfactory erection but we consider the session a success both in terms of fully accepting the ED issue and a plan of action. That being employing the Newbie routine patiently and persistently per Avocet8’s encouraging article “Vacuum Pumping when you have ED.”

My wife is small so any dramatic increase in my length or girth would not be comfortable for her. Our goal is to simply try to regain penis health.

Which brings me to.. I’m not yet able to start a new thread. Perhaps Avocet8 or another moderator or member familiar the ED could start a thread on that subject. I feel that would be very helpful as any success stories would be most encouraging.

Thank you for your patience with me. Any and all help with my issue will be appreciated.

Gnome is right, I’m a member on mesomorphosis boards, Best thing you could do is see a doctor, and get on TRT, testosterone replacement therapy. It helps with diabetes, and your erections will probably be as hard as they were when you were twenty.

What? How in the world do you know his testosterone production is an issue?

He states quite clearly that the problem is a combination of diabetes, smoking, beer, and age. It would be best to simply improve his overall health, which it sounds like he’s trying to do. All of this is off-topic. Nightlight, you can post threads in the newbie forum. You may want to re-post there.

Then: 6.75" x 5" ----> Now: 8.5" x 5.75"

Do you know the cause? If hormonal - things can be done… Other than treating the symptoms with a PDE5 inhibitor…

Ok I will start a thread on ED. I had ED you don’t have to settle for it. Avocet is an excellent example on how to get over on ED. AS I am also a good example of how to get over on ED.

Have to be careful though - so many people want to self diagnose and treat.

My advice - IF it is hormonal, to find an endocrinologist who specializes in TRT.

You can supplement T without losing your remaining testicular function - but most endocrinologists would just put you on exogenous T haphazardly without regard to potential testicular atrophy and estrogen management.

I’m reasonably young but have low T due to an injury. I went to two local endocrinologists - the first one thought my labs were fine even though they were at the bottom of the reference range… The thought is “if it is within the reference range of most people”, all is fine… Oh and they don’t normalize for age either. Extremely frustrating.

Eventually I decided to go out of state to see a specialist.

So many people on that website though have given up on physicians because the AACE guidelines for hypogonadism is so outdated. I do not recommend self treatment.

Ironaddict, I’m a member on Anabolex, and I’ve had good luck with the sponsors there, but I’m always looking for new sources. Can you vouch for any of the sponsors on Meso? I’m looking for a new source for GH. I used to buy from IP in China, but he closed shop for some reason. I was actually injecting the GH directly into my pecker for a while, but I don’t know if it was actually having an effect, so I stopped. I’m going to do an experiment as soon as I plateau from my newbie gains, just to see if the GH has an effect.

Yes, that's a gain of 1.8 inches. And no... That's not my real picture.

Gnome, the testicular atrophy that testosterone causes can be offset with HCG. If you are on full-time hormone replacement therapy you’d have to stop for a couple of months, and then when you start up again you’d start HCG at the same time you started the test. In most cases your nuts will actually GROW. In the old days, bodybuilders would just accept the testicular atrophy when they were on a cycle, then use Clomid afterwards to get the boys back to normal. Nowadays they just use HCG (also called Pregnyl) right from the start and avoid the shrinkage issues altogether.

Yes I know. I’m on Novarel.

HCG = Acne, primarily body acne which IMO is worse than small balls. I have not seen any evidence of balls getting bigger on HCG. That’s the thing about AS. Like PE results and side effects differ from one guy to the next as do the implications of the various dosing and such.

Gnome - your post # 23 - I have accepted that I have a serious ED issue and today I’ll call my GP to schedule an ED-specific appointment. We’ve been focusing on my other health issues because of the domino effect they have on overall health. So the exact cause of my ED has not been determined. And thanks for the cautions expressed in #28.

Ironaddict (#23) - I’m certain my testosterone production level has not been among the many things I’ve been tested for. Kathy has been very good about reviewing all tests results with me line by line and answers all my questions. She is about 15 years younger than me so she’ll be around to help me see this issue resolved.

HPGreek (#24) Thanks for the encouragement to stay focused on improving my overall health and your suggestion of reposting my original on the Newbie Forum. Perhaps that will put the subject on the table for those hesitant to initiate it.

Kingpole (#27) Thanks for starting a thread on ED. Your having recovered from ED is very encouraging.

Sam1966 (#29) Thanks for the info. Am not familiar with all the abbreviations so I’m printing out all responses and highlighting specifics to ask my physiciam about.

All - Your willingness to share with me is awesome. I’m much more optimistic about the future than yesterday. Amazing how something as simple as a smile or word of encouragement can brighten one’s day.

Odds are that NightLight’s issue is not hormonal. Only about 3 % of all ED is caused by endocrine problems, whereas 30 % of ED cases can be blamed on diabetes, which he has, and he smokes, and he’s 68 - which is yet another important factor. Although I am here to tell you that 68 is not very old :) , being older can affect erection quality.

Actually, it IS most likely that his issues are hormonal.

Honestly, to the people that called me out about not knowing its his hormones, read up.
Yes, i can attribute his ed to lack of testosterone.
hes 68. His levels ARE low. with todays world its almost impossible for someone at 68 to have reasonable levels. Reasonable meaning above 600 on the (300-1100) scale.
He drinks. Guess what? Alcohol raises Estradiol (E2) levels in men.
smoking also decreases blood flow as we know.

I have used HCG, Being as I was a steroid user. I’m on HRT now.
HCG NEVER has given anyone I know acne *noticeably to complain about*

and baywatch, not seen any evidence as to HCG increasing ball size? Do you even know what HCG is and does?
It is basically fake LH. Which WILL stimulate someones balls to grow and plump, unless theyre ball are non responsive, which is primary failure I believe.

Excuse me for being a little brash, but I am so dedicated towards the endocrine system and Know so much about it, im offended when someone denies my knowledge on it.

When Nightlight goes and gets his: Total Testosterone, Free Testosterone, SHBG, and Estradiol (E2) levels checked, id bet my ass that he will be low in the first two, and higher in the 2nd.

You haven’t a clue what his hormonal levels are. He hasn’t reported them.

Many men of his age have excellent erectile function whether their T level is above 600 or below that.
