Has a pubic shield condom ever been manufactured?

I found the above patent for a condom with a pubic shield. I think this is an exceptional idea to help protect us from STDs that occur during skin to skin contact in the pubic area.

However, I can’t find such a condom anywhere. Does anyone know if a pubic shield condom has ever been produced?

While it may be an excellent idea in theory, I have a feeling that most would culturally not accept that.

Why not? What’s wrong with a pubic shield? How is it any different than wearing a shield around the shaft?

I’m not sure. But the idea is sort of like “girding your loins” for the field of battle, no? Sex should be, ideally, more user friendly?

To my mind it goes the way of the all-body condom: might be effective but what’s the point? A complete turn-off in my opinion.

You can still contract if you don’t use a pubic shield. I am thinking of creating my own pubic shield type condom by using a dental dam at the base of a regular condom.

It should be more user friendly, but what if you have a long list of beautiful women lined up ready for you and you want to get it on with all of them? It’s just too risky these days not gird your loins for battle.

I’ve always wondered why no one sells such a device. If you’re going to destroy a lot of sexual sensation by covering the whole penis in latex to prevent disease, why not extend that latex a few inches in the surrounding pubic region, where it won’t sap any more pleasure, and make the disease prevention (HSV and HPV especially) much more effective?

Thank you Para-Goomba. A female condom provides some pubic protection. I never understood why they didn’t just extend the outer covering a few centimeters in all directions in the female condom.

Are there any creative types on here who would have the resources and abilities to manufacture a custom made pubic shield condom for purchase?
