I went through adolescence in the early 60’s in a suburb of Rochester, NY. This is actually a documented unintended consequence of the current version of sex ed with its focus on abstinence, rather than teaching thoroughly about sex - an increase in anal sex, because kids ignorantly don’t think it’s real sex and also because it preserves “virginity”. I realize your daughter may not have had sex ed yet, but what you’re reporting is certainly part of the trend, and as you report kids seem to be picking up more information - perhaps because of the internet - and yet not necessarily getting good or complete information.

Although I think that educating about sex is much needed, I don’t think it is the cause. I would like some “old timers” to chime in on this one, but this has been going on for centuries. To blame it solely on the sex ed in school would be premature. So who ever documented this probably jumped the gun. There is obviously an underlying cause that today’s sex ed ,and various other things throughout time, that triggers this behavior in young heterosexual men.
