Decrease in sex drive

When I started PE (New Years resolution), I had a lot of problems with my ED.

I am a 19 year old highschool student, not very healthy (but doubtfully related to this), in a solid long-term relationship with a great sex life.

My ED problems were/are NOT stress related (because I am exposed to almost no stress in life).

When started jelqing, my ED problems first decreased, later diminished. Still, biggest mark I could have ever given to my EQ would be 7/10.

I stopped doing PE few weeks ago, just light jelqing to keep the ED under control, but a week ago, I almost entirely lost my sex drive.

Since my GF and I have sex pretty often, so I tried having sex with her for her pleasure sake, but I didn’t even enjoy it that much.

I’m really freaking out here. My health status has been better last few months, I am getting in a pretty good shape of lately (bodybuilding + a lot of cardio almost 2 months in), but somehow I just lost my sex drive.

My relationship with my GF is in a rough spot right now (doubt it’s related to this problem since it has been going on for a bit longer than that), and sex was always something that has taken the edge off of the tensions while we tried to talk things out.

I really need help right now, and I am willing to do almost anything to try and get my sex drive back to normal.

Any suggestions?

I’m sorry I don’t have a solution for you.

You have probably already considered this, but I’ll ask it anyway.

Could you possibly be depressed? While stress from your environment may lead to depression, some people become depressed for no reason, other than a chemical imbalance. That being said, a rough spot in your relationship might create a depressive state.

You’re not alone. I’m going through a divorce right now. I currently have diagnosed depression, and zero sex drive. My PE is on hold.

I am sorry to hear about your divorce, but I am afraid I don’t have the same problem.

I have no symptoms of a depression, and rough spots in my relationship are not that uncommon.

Psychologically, I don’t have any reason to loose the sex drive, I fear my problem is physical/physiological.

I wish you all the luck in the treatment of your condition, I know from second-hand experience how hard it is for you.

Checked your hormonal balance? Told to your Doc?

Not yet.

As for hormonal balance, I had it checked about a year ago, and it was all in a very good order.

My testosterone level was slightly elevated, but just barely few units above the standard interval. Endochrinologist said that this kind of elevation is still within normal parameters.

Do you drink alcohol? Take medicines?

I haven’t drank anything for about a month or so, and I don’t have a habbit of doing it often.

Last medicine I took was a nasal spray Nasonex, and that was a few months ago. Before that I was on extencilin and penicilin treatments.

So I guess the second question is also a “no”. :(

I can just advice “speak with a Doc”. There are many potential causes of those troubles.

Like what? Anything I should worry about?

I agree with marinera, House.

Nowadays this is a very easy conversation with most doctors, more of them having learned in the past decade to talk about ED from their own side of the exam table.

There’s a whole laundry list of life things that affect erectile function, and not all related to how in-shape you are.

I guess you already know, it’s not uncommon that heavy bodybuilding decreases sex drive.

First guess: a combo of the above.

Taped onto the dashboard of a car at a junkyard, I once found the following: "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement." The car was crashed.

Primary goal: To have an EQ above average (i.e. streetsmart, compassionate about life and happy) Secondary goal: to make an anagram of my signature denoting how I feel about my gains

I don’t lift all that heavy.

@mgus:
I don’t know what you meen by the first paragraph, but the freaking out factor came after the sex drive loss.

As for the second paragraph, it isn’t that uncommon for us to have a rough patch, and it isn’t even that bad this time.

We usually have a lot of arguments, but in the last 2 months, they are more frequent.

But it bothered me before a lot more than it does now, so I can probably completely exclude that as cause.

She was just here, I fell asleep, had an erection. She woke me up, and when she noticed the erection, she started touching me.

The erection dropped almost as soon as she touched me. :(

I think she took a little offense, but i swear it wasn’t her, it was definitely me. It’s like I have some sort of aversion to sex.

Yesterday I tried porn, didn’t work.

I hope to see the doctor today.

House MD,

You say that your not very healthy! This may have a negative impact on your sex drive.

I have had periods of unhealthy eating , drinking etc, with little or no exercise. And my sex drive used to crash.

These days I eat right take exercise and my sex drive is great. I’m 31 by the way.

Might help, worth a try.
