I don’t think it usually works that way, Retainer. Even if it did, part of the point of edging as re-training is to learn to better recognize all the steps in your own ejaculation process - not just the point of no return but the sexual exictement steps that lead up to that so that you can take counter-steps away from it and prolong the “edge.”

This practice is especially helpful to guys who used to masturbate in fast and furtive ways because they were afraid they would get caught in the act. That kind of early masturbatory “training” does definitely contribute to issues of premature ejaculation later when you start having intercourse.

wow, I really got the whole edging concept wrong. I thought the point was to bring yourself near the PONR as quick as possible, let the feeling subside, go to PONR, subside and so on.

Instead I should stretch my masturbation sessions to the length I want my intercourses, in order to learn the body to hold the orgasm for that long?

If I want to able myself to bang my girl in a furious pace for 30 minutes, I should train myself masturbate in a furious pace for 30 minutes without orgasm?

Makes much more sense, am I on the right track now?

That is exactly what I try to do when edging. What I do is go as long as possible without coming remotely close to having an orgasm. When I do start to feel like I am going to cum, I slow down the pace. Sometimes I have to stop all together. I also try to count up by sevens (hey, multiplication tables do come in handy!). Just get your mind to focus on anything other than your penis or how good it feels. This helps a lot if you want to go the distance.

Kegels help build up your BC muscle, which is directly involved with ejaculation. I find that doing a kegel when I am close to the edge will usually put me over. However, when I slow it down and do some reverse kegels, it helps me gain control again. People are different though; as some prefer regular kegels over reverse kegels to gain control. There is a good thread called “The ejaculation process” that explains all of this really well.

Edging, is working yourself up to just before the point of no return pretty slowly, then stopping. Letting the feeling subside, and repeating. Do it as many times as you can possibly bare.
