Consultation with Dr. tomorrow regarding Propecia

I’ve been on Propecia for a few years, and I’m very pleased. No side effects. Good luck.

Well I’m on day number 6 of taking the Propecia and so far I’ve experienced zero side effects. Many of those who did experience them said they were noticable right away, so I am hoping I’m in the clear but it is still early.

Worry about something else.

If you convince yourself that you’ll have problems, you will.

Bro, I’m not worried. As I just stated, I’m feeling just fine and am optimistic that I won’t get side effects.

I just hope I get good results for my hair.

8-Ball, as a diffuse thinner it might be woth looking into a concealer. They are actually incredibly good and if you are thinning all over, but still have decent coverage, when applied correctly are pretty much undetectable.

You mean like Toppik? Is that what a concealer is? Do those actually work that well?

Yes, but there are better one’s than Toppik. I was amazed at how well it works. In fact I’d say stunned and how good the stuff I used was (i’ll look up the name later). The reason I think it was so effective on me is that because, like you, I’m a diffuse thinner, so have plenty of coverage. The concealer fibres attach themselves to the hairs, and make them look thicker (also this stuff doesn’t come out if you shake your head or run your hands through your hair). It only takes a light application and no one can tell I’m thinning on top.

Nice, I saw a video on YouTubefor Toppik and the results looked very impressive. Can you still use them effectively if you use styling products in your hair?

Yes, i still use styling wax. It takes a while to get get used to applying it effectively and less is defintely better. Once you get used to applying it, it can be done in about 1 minute. Quite often i read that celebs have had hair transplants, but when I look at the photo’s I often think they are just using a concealer. People don’t realise just how effective these things are. Sometimes guys try and fill in big bald spots with it and it looks bad, but for diffuse thinners, it’s brilliant. I hardly ever bother wearing it, but this weekend I went away with friends and no one had a clue. I even let a girl get right up close and look through my hair, as I was saying I’m starting to get one or two grey hairs and she said Iw asn’t, so wanted a closer look.

This is the stuff I use:

Joey,

Do you apply the concealer before or after applying the styling wax,

I put it on before, but I’d imagine it would also be fine if you put in on after. Just experiment and see what works best for you. It’s so easy to put on, that messing around to see if it’s better to put on before or after styling wax is no big deal.

I tried Dermatch and to get that looking good it would often take a few minutes. But with the nano fibres you literally sprinkle it on your hair and it sticks to it. Once you know how much you need, you can do it in about 30 seconds.

I just wanted to post an update. I’m 3 weeks in and have experienced zero side effects. From my reading and research into Propecia, it seems that those who do claim sides get them very early on, and they sometimes diminish as time goes by. It’s rare to see someone who is fine for weeks and then has the effects develop down the line, so I’m feeling pretty confident that I won’t have any problems.

I haven’t really looked closely at my hair to look for improvement, as it’s still early on and I don’t want to psych myself out. I’m hoping to see some visual progress by about the 3 month mark, we’ll see.

A sensible approach.

Once I learned about the potential side effects I got them, but luckily for me my circumstances were such that I discovered it was all in my head. And believe me I was as convinced as most of the posters on Propecia help. Had it not been for distraction of constantly worrying about my penis recovering from surgery, which stopped me worrying about the side effects of finisteride (and when you think your penis is deformed, you really wouldn’t even spend a split second worrying about libido or ED) and the abstanence from anything sexual, I would still be suffering from the “side effects” now. I’m sure some people have sides, but far, far fewer than internet messageboards would have you believe. The trouble is once you are aware of them you start looking out for them. Had I been unanware of the sides and not had a good erection one day, I’d have just put it down to stress or tiredness. But once it happened a few times after I’d read about Prop sides, I became worried and really started having erectile problems. It was the same with my libido. If I didn’t feel like sex, I’d become worried, to the point when I ahrdly felt like having sex.

Placebo effect on the dick muscle is potentially very potent. I have to keep reminding myself of this.
