Circumcision Broo-ha-ha

Hmm yeah circumcision is kind of an issue for me as well. I don’t know whether its right or wrong to cut a boy at birth, maybe its best to wait until they are of age but then again I think its more of a cultural thing. In some societies I hear circumcision is a ritual that occurs at later years.

Personally I’m uncut and have been thinking about getting circumsized. But I am not familiar with the procedure and am guessing it must hurt like hell. As for sensitivity issues, porn stars seem to do just fine and most of them are cut =) plus in North America the standard look is cut. So yeah I think a girl would find it more enjoyable and better looking, just like a guy would find a freshly waxed pussy much more appealing than one with a forest down there.

Are you kidding me? If any girl treated my dick like they treat dicks in pornos I would scream my lungs out. They have no respect for any penis head sensitivity and since the guys don´t complain I guess they can´t have much either.

That´s one of my objections against porn, the girls have crappy technique, especially at giving BJ´s and handjobs. My other objection the fixation on anal sex, but that has nothing to do with this.

That said I don´t suggest all cut guys lack sensivity, just ment that guys from porn was a poor example. In my eyes.

IMO the cut look looks better in erect state and the uncut in flaccid. I wouldn´t get a circ though, too afraid to go from what I have an like to something that potentially could take away sesnsitivity and become something I don´t like.

Adult circumcision decision

It’s your dick and you can do as you please, of course, but getting that specialized part of your organ cut off for looks is a poor reason in my book. There are numerous stories on the Internet about guys who didn’t realize what they would lose with an adult circumcision and how they wished they hadn’t done it.

I was circ’d as an infant and am now restoring what I can by stretching the shaft skin over the glans. It will take a long time and I will never have those special nerve endings again, but I can tell you that I’ve already gotten back a ton of sensitivity in my glans and orgasms are much more intense than they used to be. I’m about to begin my PE “adventure” (on Feb. 1) and want to continue with the FR and hope that additional skin stretching will occur with the combination of techniques.

BTW, I’m not angry with my parents or upset about the decision they made. I have to deal with what I have, but I don’t have to accept it as a final condition. Just as the members of this forum want “improved” penises, I want an improved penis with a hood. :) To each his own.

In addition to MDC’s excellent points, I’ll add that one of the other criticisms of circumcision is that it messes up the way the brain interprets sexual sensations because of all the severed nerves. It’s a bit like an amputee (and that’s what circumcised men are) having bogus sensations from his/her limb that now isn’t there at all — the parts of the brain designed to monitor those severed nerves still exist and can still participate in the brain’s sexual response pattern. The statistics show that circumcised men have a greater probability for premature ejaculations, and this may be why — the end of the foreskin contains nearly all the fine touch receptors in the penis, while the skin on the glans contains very few. It’s not a question of sensitivity, but of the brain getting the right mix of sensations. That mix is altered with circumcised men. The comparison that is usually made is that the foreskin is about as sensitive as the lips…so after losing it, a man is no longer “kissing” a woman’s genitals because he can’t feel that sensation any more. Also, women — because they have foreskins — do have those sensations, and so circumcised men don’t have a good intuition as to how to perform oral sex on a woman because they can’t feel in an analogous way to the way the woman feels. Women also can sense when they are nearing orgasm much better than circumcised men can for this reason, which is why the men have a much harder time getting ejaculation control.

Ambitious;

I was following your reasoning until you got to this statement.

Circumcized men still have lips. No reason I can think of why they can’t perform oral sex on women and do it as well or as poorly as uncut men, even their first time at it. You want to explain how that works?

I see that I stacked my analogies so high that they fell over. So, to try again:

Even light kisses are pleasurable because of the sensitivity of lips; the lips have “fine touch” receptors that respond to light pressure. Kissing with too much pressure shuts off those light sensations after a while; the “fine touch” receptors get overwhelmed. It’s similar with sex; and because circumcised men don’t have their foreskins — which are about as sensitive as lips and have lots of “fine touch” receptors — they have sex with a woman too roughly, not realizing that a woman’s clitoris responds to very light touches the way a person’s lips would during kissing. So I was discussing sex here, not oral sex, when referring to “kissing” a woman’s genitals — i.e., the level of gentleness in sex equivalent to the level of gentleness in kissing, which circumcised men don’t do because their parents let the doctor amputate those 20 square inches of fine touch receptors; they “bang away” because only their pressure receptors in the shaft of their penises are sending signals to their brains, and their penises now need that pressure from hard thrusting to feel much of anything.

I then proceeded to discuss oral sex too in the next sentence, which I see was very confusing: Because circumcised men don’t have foreskins, they can’t do oral sex well either because they can’t relate to how the clitoris’ foreskin reacts to different sensations, or how the woman’s clitoral glans reacts, because it is more sensitive than the circumcised man’s penis, which is unprotected by a foreskin and hence desensitized (the skin gets “keratinized”). So the amount of pressure a man would find pleasurable in oral sex is too much for the woman, and the woman experiences discomfort from it. Of course, this works both ways: the woman doesn’t know how to pleasure a circumcised man orally, either. They think it’s about licking when it’s more about sucking and applying firm pressure to the shaft.

Re: Lips, like mouth lips

I get it but I still don’t get it.

I don’t have a foreskin anymore (how long did I have one? a day?), but I do have lips and very sensitive ones. I know how they work and I know how to use them in sex.

Why is it that I, without a foreskin, cannot do good oral sex on women in your scenario? I can’t buy the no foreskin part because no woman I ever had oral sex with ever said, “Oh, that’s not doing it for me, what you’re doing. It’s because you don’t have a foreskin.” They liked it, at least it seemed at the time like they did. Was I being duped?

I’m obviously missing something here and I know it’s a foreskin but that isn’t the whole story in oral sex, imo.

PS: I am not ragging you. I want to know how not having a foreskin really deprives me.

avocet8:

I am circumcised too. And yes, women enjoy what I do with oral sex, at least much of the time. I am not saying that “if you are circumcised then you can’t perform oral sex well.” What I am saying is that you may have difficulty imagining what the woman is feeling as a result of what you’re doing, because you are lacking the homologous body part. Which, in turn, might adversely affect your performance. We can do better if we understand something about the differences between men and women, which differences are made larger by circumcision. If you say that a clitoris has sensations similar to that of a penis, then you have to ask what sort of penis it is like. And the answer is: It’s like an uncircumcised penis, not a circumcised one. Thus the importance of understanding what circumcision does to men.

ThunderSS:

A question for you: Do women perceive a difference?

It has also been said that there is a difference between circumcision performed on an infant vs. an adult, which is your situation. An infant’s brain rewires more than an adult’s brain after having all those nerves severed. That said, I’ve seen quotes from men circumcised as adults who say that their loss is like the difference between seeing in black and white and seeing in color.

Hey Ambitious,

The ex-wife was the only woman that had me both ways. I asked and was told that it didn’t make a difference to her. I’m not sure if she was telling the truth or saying what I wanted to hear though.

Thank you Thunder. Someone has gotten my point. My wife has a male cousin that had a circumcision done a year or two back for a medical reason- foreskin constricting bloodflow to glan; yes folks, there can be medical issues with being “intact”.

I can report that the the cousin doesn’t miss a thing! And also, I’m not over hearing an girl talk saying anything negative either from the wife, who being European, probably only has had uncut willies up her love canal.

There is absolutely no defensible medical reason for routine circumcision. Every medic knows that. In some circumstances it is justified for surgical or medical reasons, but it should be the last resort after every other route has been explored. I mentioned my son’s adhesions. He’s 15 and they separated the foreskin from the glans under general anaesthesia. He tells me it’s been a complete success. Nevertheless, the surgeon did offer circumcision, but I turned it down flat. I have mine and enjoy it immensely. As other blokes have said here, we have the common sense to pull it back and wash it when we have our daily shower. Also, out of courtesy to my wife, I wash it before lovemaking.

I read about how getting it caught in a zip usually results in circumcision, but this, too, is unjustified and if this happens, demand an alternative - like, for example, removing the zip, not what it’s attached to!!!! They just want to avoid a tricky repair, that’s all. Unless, of course, it’s mangled beyond repair. And, guys, wouldn’t you sooner keep your foreskin to protect from zip accidents? What do cut guys do if their willy gets caught in the zip - do the surgeons suggest removing the willy rather than the zip?

Peace to all

Dom

hmmm

I’ve “experimented” with desensitizing my UN-cut dick and have this to say:

I am very glad I did NOT get circumcised. Let me explain.
There are ways you can keep your foreskin from covering your gland (will not go over this here) after a while of this you definitely are not as sensitive - the good thing I noticed from doing this was it seemed a little easier to last longer during sex (seems to go against what some people said) BUT it also seemed “dulled”. I’m confident that I was able to dull the sensations on my gland, and I did notice that my pulled back foreskin also had a reduction in sensitivity. (it’s like it became dried out - foreskin keeps things “soft”)

Obviously I do not have the fortune of swapping a cut and UN-cut dick to see the difference, but this is what I observed..

I would not give up foreskin :)

I’m circumcised and I love it! :)

For all of you circumcized guys saying “it feels great blah blah” without ever knowing what it’s like to have a foreskin, let me tell you, I wouldn’t have any son of mine circumcized for anything in the world. I was uncut until I got married about 5 years ago (to Jewish girl), and had the procedure done without too much thought or research. I lost so must sensation that I was basically too depressed to masturbate or have sex at all for almost a year afterwards. However, I have restored what was left from the procedure using various non-surgical techniques (t-tape and TLC tugger) and now have 100% coverage flacid, and 50% when erect. Unfortunately, I lost most of my frenulum and of course all of the ridged band.

I think perhaps the most important aspect of the foreskin is the gliding action during sex and masturbation. For me, if I just wank off by sliding my hand over my lubricated dick, I feel pain not pleasure. Restoration can do a very good job of restoring that gliding function, although the skin is much looser and doesn’t really snap into place like a real foreskin.

There is a lot of information out there about the functions of the foreskin, I recommend you guys do some reading.
