Breath control = libido control?

Breath control = libido control?

I often see references to using breathing tecniques in order to control your level of horniness.

Can someone familiar with how this is accomplished tell us how to do it?

I think someone on this board wrote about it, if I am not mistaken. Was it Iamaru? Not sure how to do it, but I think it works. One time, for some reason I was breathing heavily during intercourse and found that I was able to go on for much longer than usual. I attributed it to the way I was breathing that helped me not ejaculate earlier. I’ll have to remember to try it at the next intercourse and see if I get the same result. The only think is that I don’t really remember how I was breathing. All I know is that it worked and that it was heavy breathing. Therefore, if anyone knows the technique, let us know! :)

In my experience, shallow and quick breathing leads me faster to
ejaculate, while deep “belly-breathing” helps me to last longer.

If you slow your breathing and take deeper braths it should help to last longer

This is interesting. My theory would be that the primary reason for its working is that belly breathing requires concentration to do - taking your mind ever so slightly off the job at hand.

Dr. Lin over at Action Love has stuff about breathing exercises in Sexual Chigong.

My cigarette smoking habit and I have been thinking about really getting into it. Heh.

Cut and pasted from that link, as it appears to be the nuts and bolts-

1. Calm the mind with naturally breathing for several minutes, partially close the eyes, put the tongue against the palate, focus the mind on the forehead between the eyebrows.
2. Inhale air through the nose stepwise, expand the abdomen, as termed pumping and holding, in an interval of 2 - 5 seconds, for 8 to 20 times up to the maximum capacity of the lung, and move the mind to down to the navel.
3. Hold the breath, start to move the expanded abdomen downward by contracting the upper abdomen, as the pressure gradually builds up against the bladder and prostate gland, and move the mind to the prostate gland area.
4. Contract the anus and exhale air through the mouth slowly, while moving the mind slowly from the prostate gland area, along the spinal cord, up to the forehead.
5. Repeat 2-4 several times.

NOTE:
1. In Step 4, a man should experience a hot energy flow, called Chi, rising up from the prostate gland area, along the spinal cord, to the head.
2. During intercourse, Step 3 is the most important one; he should hold the breath as long as he can and apply pressure to the bladder and prostate gland area with the maximum contraction of the upper abdomen and the maximum expansion of the lower abdomen. It will knock down the sensitivity of the penis and eventually numb it as it is ready for surgery.
3. It requires practice for 2 - 10 weeks to notice its effects on the sexual performance.

Anyone make any sense of this? If so, care to translate?

Duh......

Thanks, RB.

I didn’t quite feel right pasting it in, since it’s from outside. There are cool illustrations of the postures on the original page, too. Actually, the more I look it over, the more I get to thinking that the jargon and idiom are best viewed in context.

Which of those instructions were abstruse to you, anyway? I’m no expert, but I wasn’t mystified by his recipe. Maybe I’m not reading it closely enough to get confused.

I’ll try to be more thoroughgoing….:(

Anyway, that guy’s english is a TRIP! I always get a fascinated laugh out of reading his talk.

I figure if it’s their free for viewing, a little cut and paste never hurt anyone. Not trying to make a buck off it, just freaking understand it.

My mind goes completely numb trying to interpret/apply eastern mumbo jumbo… :)

Heh. He said "Numbness in the head".

RB,

I must console you by saying that although I’ve read quite a bit of Eastern mumbo jumbo, the notion of moving the mind still seems risky to interpret.

One angle is that he does mean to move at least your focal point of awareness to the point (abdomen, anus, whatever) being referred to. But I suppose I’m not saying anything enlightening by that.

Again, just which part does seem rough to you?

The breathing pattern, in laymen/western terms…
