Any longterm concerns on Viagra?

Any longterm concerns on Viagra?

I bought generic viagra, and I have just used it once with masturbation to see whether it is working or not. This weekend I may use it with my girlfriend. However I was talking with a friend, and he has sort of made me concerned regarding the use of Viagra. If my dick gets used to staying up due to Viagra, then once I can not find Viagra one day what would be the functionality of my dick? Would it lose its capability to get erect?

Did anybody among you take Viagra for some certain period of time, then stopped taking it then observed some negative side effects this way?

By the way I am just going to take 25mg for recreational purposes. I mean to be able to have longer sex.

I can’t answer your question with any real supporting evidence as I’ve never studied it. I would however expect that if there were any erectile dysfunction effects, then they would be fairly short term (physically that is - can’t speak for psychologically). I’ve experienced loss of erection strength from time to time from various causes, which I put down to exhaustion of one or more of the pre-requisites (I’m guessing mostly enzymes, but nutritional elements almost certainly play a role too).

All over the body there are receptors that upregulate and downregulate to maintain stasis. I don’t see why it would be any different with viagra (PDE-5 in this case). I think the greatest long term issue might be to do with blood pressure, not that I’m blaming viagra for that since almost every lifestyle choice we make will also factor in there too.

If you read the cautions & contraindications list supplied with brand name viagra, it’s enough to make you crap your pants before you’ve even taken them out of the packet (as with almost any medication). I’d say go ahead but pay attention to your body. If you don’t have ED and are taking them just for recreational use then 25mg should be fine, 50mg max. If you needed more than that, perhaps viagra is not the right way to treat the condition.

I fooled around with Generic V for a time frame of maybe 5 months (maybe one per week on a non regular basis). I then was more annoyed by the flushing and the headaches, so I completely stopped it. It did not effect my erection strength at all. I really would be very relaxed about those fears. I’m fucking like a young god any day without even thinking of taking a viagra again :D

...not buried yet, another 5" ahead!

I don’t like messing around with it when I don’t really need to, but I’ve taken it about a dozen times or so in the past year. I had a psychologically induced case of ED for awhile and I got ahold of some Viagra and I split the 50mg pills in half and they worked wonderfully. I’ve noticed that if I take them in the evening, when I wake up I’ve got a raging morning erection. I am nervous for the same reason that you are, Cheatah, that in taking Viagra when I don’t really need them that it will put my normal erections at a disadvantage. But during my use I’ve never found this to be the case. In fact, I think by using it I’ve been able to beat my psychologically induced ED by giving me greater confidence. It’s actually been a godsend.

If you can get erections normally without Viagra, taking Viagra isn’t going to reduce that ability in any way. At least that’s my experience.

Thank you very much for all the responses. I can actually get a hard-on very fast, even by hugging my girlfriend thinking how warm and sexy she is… But the last time I was able to last, it was just over 5 minutes or so. I would wish to have longer sex than that. Therefore I have bought generic viagra, and in my practice trials with masturbation, things seem to work alright. Now I need to use it with my girlfriend.

According to the responses, Viagra does not seem to have side effects after one stops taking it. This is good news, and it is encouraging news.

May I ask whether or not I am taking Viagra to my girlfriend? This sounds like a funny question, but maybe I should let her wonder what is going on…

Is it okay to take viagra while taking NOX2? I see on the little cheat sheet the pharmacist gave me with my viagra prescription that it should not be taken with nitrites and NOX2 increases nitric oxide levels. So, seems like it might not be a good idea to combine. Has anyone taken both and had their dick explode?

I don’t see any similarity between Heart medication that’s warned against, and NOx2. I’ve taken Viagra and NOx2 recently and haven’t had any unwanted explosions.

Ike;

NOx2 is a brand name taken on because the L-arginine component in it increases NITRIC oxide availability, very different from NITRITE drugs. “Poppers,” the recreational drug, are Nitrite based. They cannot be combined with Viagra use.

Certain heart conditions require nitrite medications. This precludes the use of Viagra and other vasodilator/PDE-5 inhibiting drugs.
