A weird odor under my glans

There is this weird, interesting odor right under my glans. It is fairly subtle and it can’t be smelled unless I touch it with my fingers and smell them directly. It definitely doesn’t smell diseased (I have no STDs), but doesn’t smell like anything else on my body. I suppose when I haven’t showered in a couple days it has a fishy odor. However, even right after a shower it can smell very subtly.

Is this smell natural? What products get rid of this smell (yes, I have scrubbed the area with soap in the shower, it doesn’t get rid of the smell 100%) Also, after a few hours the smell is back.

I think the smell builds up as the edge of my foreskin curls above that area, causing no air to get in. I am circumcised, but still a little skin goes over that area.

I guess a semi-related question is why does my ass still have that “assy” odor even after a shower which I scrub hard. Its not like a “shit” smell, but it is that assy odor.

I’ve had the same sort of thing recently myself although it has stopped now . It almost was likened to pastry cooking.

Quite by chance last week I was looking through my cupboards and found some l-arginine.

I have had it some time and wondered whether it had deteriorated, so took a small ‘pinch’ on my tounge and it tasted exactly like the peculiar smell.

Since this is the area where L-arginine is converted to Nitric Oxide (Can someone correct me if I am wrong!) It may be something to do with that.

Perhaps our specialists might be able to throw some light on this, as I was quite intrigued myself as to it’s origin and apparent connection.

The smell has been there as long as I can remember. I don’t take any supplements so I don’t think it has to do with that…?

Your body extracts the argenine from the food you eat. It is an automatic process for most amino acids

how do I get rid of that smell. It kind of sucks

Strangely, since taking some ‘arginine the smell has gone. So whether that would do the same for you is another matter as it may not be that.

Unfortunately there is only one way to find out. And that is a risk you will have to take. Or have a word with your doctor. You can always say you are worried that something may be developing down there.

If you can take some sort of sample by wiping it off on a piece of lint and putting it into a plastic bag. That might be better for both of you
