Yohimbine - what a reaction :

Not posted for a long time, but have been lurking on occasions..

I tried a 2.5 mg tablet of yohimbine today for the 1st time in my life (to assist in fat burning) and have to say, despite hearing a lot of negative stuff about it, I really like it. I felt ‘up’ but not freaked out or like a crackhead or anything. Kinda killed any thoughts of naughty foods to :)

Thought I’d also mention that after about an hour of takin it it made me feel VERY horny + my cock was in a semi hard state despite no sexual/visual stimulation. I had to give in, and masturbated to some computer porn + have to say thats the best hard-on I’ve ever had, it was bigger than usual + extremely hard and sensitive. My cock felt ‘hot’ and stranglely even the orgasom felt stronger than usual :)

Anyone explain how yohimbine effects the penis? And does the body ever ‘adjust’ to this effect ie the yohimbine stops working so well?

Yohimbine is a tryptamine alkaloid and is the active chemical constituent of the medicinal herb Pausinystalia yohimbe (formerly Corynanthe yohimbe), also known as yohimbe or yohimbe bark. Yohimbine is a stimulant drug and purportedly has aphrodisiac qualities.

Yohimbine has significant side effects, such as anxiety reactions. According to the Mayo Clinic, yohimbine can be dangerous if used in excessive amounts.[11]
Higher doses of oral yohimbine may create numerous side effects, such as rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, overstimulation, insomnia and/or sleeplessness. Some effects in rare cases were panic attacks, hallucinations, headaches, dizziness, and skin flushing.[12]

More serious adverse effects may include seizures and renal failure. Yohimbine should not be consumed by anyone with liver, kidney, heart disease, or a psychological disorder.[12]

The range between an effective dose and a dangerous dose is very narrow; too large of a dosage can be harmful and toxic.[12] This may also lead to precipitation of panic disorder type reactions.

Can you share the brand name, or ideally a weblink, for the yohimbine you took? I’ve had bad experiences taking yohimbe — like what’s mentioned in the link Marinera posted: anxiety, rapid heart beat, insomnia. If there’s product with a dosage that gives the positives without the nasty side effects I’d like to know what it is. Thanks.

Personally, I don’t feel much from 3-4 , 2.5 mg capsules. I used Primaforce brand .It was pure yohimbine. I get better results from Yohimbe but everybody responds different.I’m shocked a single dose at 2.5 mg did anything for you,but more power to you.The brand of yohimbe I recommend over other is Twinlabs. It gives me the results without to bad of sides.Something that I also discovered was taking it with a high fat meal,slows the response but almost kills the sides I feel.If I use it that way,I feel it about 2 1/2 to 3 hours after taking with meal.Some say that will ruin your response to yohimbe if taken with high fat food.Has not been my case. I have also tried yohimbe with ginger.I read it helps absorption. I also thought it might control any nausea. Felt no different response either way.The addition of ginger was fruitless for me. I tried using it a few times to make sure.Again, I don’t use yohimbe much. I experimented with it off and on for 6 months kind of heavily.Different brands.Different dosages.Taken on an empty stomach. On a full one. Yeah, I ate chocolate and cheese.For some reason,I crave taco bell nachos while on yohimbe? I did not drop dead.Never checked my BP but I really don’t think it was off the charts.I felt fine,a bit speedy sometime,like a cup of coffee taken to soon after your first 4.Usually the most annoying side is possible runny nose.

Ike, Primaforce yohimbine can be had at Bodybuilding.com . It cost under 10 bucks a bottle when I bought it. 90 caps a bottle.I also think you can buy it from Vitamin Shoppe now? There a a few companies that sell pure yohimbine. Forget who,but some place out in California sells it in 5mg capsules. Chances are they all buy from the same supplier. I don’t think many companies make it. Think most Yohimbine is made in Germany. Maybe some in China and India as well ?

I read years ago,Twinlabs bought their Yohimbe from Germany,and of course they standardize it for 8 or 9 milligrams yohimbine a capsule.I do not know if they still purchase it from Germany. I believe the company Twinlabs company changed hands 5-10 years ago?

Hey, I used a 2.5mg tab from Primaforce that a bud gave me, but I’ve also just received a bottle of Lipo6x - and took that this morning - I noted on the label it contains 3mg of yohimbine per serving, so it should have a similar effect on me!

Took it at 8am went for a run outside for 30 mins and have just eaten now. I feel pretty ‘normal’ really, no jitters etc. Bit of chubby going on to, but easier to ignore than yesterdays one!
