Saw Palmetto

12

Saw Palmetto does have some anti-androgenic activity in-vitro (in a test tube/petri dish), but it’s effects in-vivo (in the body) are suspect. It’s effects on the prostate are more likely due to the fact that it is a demostrated alpha-1 antagonist, similar to prazosin which has been used for BPH. Also, it’s alpha-1 effects are why large does cause lowering of blood pressure.

If I go three days without Saw Palmetto my hair starts falling out. I’ve tested it. Also, look into the whole berry if you’re more interested in hair loss reduction rather than the standardized extract (which is supposed to be better for your prostate). I’ve also noticed that only 2 brands out of 8 I’ve tried have any effect on my hair loss. Six of them didn’t help, but two take me from losing forty hairs a day to about three or four.

Dude, you are seriously misinformed!!! Please go to Hair Loss Information, Treatments & Support | Get Answers Now and do research. Also, three days is not enough time to see any reaction from your hair. Even if you stop applying minoxidil or taking finesteride, it will take some time before you begin to see a reversal in hair maintenance or regrowth. You’re hair goes through three phases: Growth, rest, and shed. These phases don’t happen in a matter of a few days. It’s a very gradual process. That is why if you ever see any company advertising "grow hair in two weeks" you know it’s a scam. Most people begin to see results in hair growth from medication no sooner than 3 months. The reverse is generally quicker when you quit taking the drugs but not that quick.

Gut Scramblin' goodness.

FYI

There is a relatively new topical availalbe that is getting favorable reviews. A buddy of mine and several acquaintances are using it and have reported a stop in loss after only 6 months. My one friend has been using it for 18 months and has stopped his loss as well.

The product is called Eucapil/Fluridil and it is a topical antiandrogen. Might be worth checking out as an alternative to Finasteride.

"Look what your brother did to the door!"

Leatherface.I see you said it stopped hair loss.Does it re-grow hair,or just let you keep what you have?

Mostly just lets you keep what you have. It’s an antiandrogen, and those are primarily used for maintenance although you might get SOME regrowth.

Chainz

If it’s regrowth you want then minoxidil is the way to go. Combined with an oral 5ar inhibitor like Finasteride or a topical antiandrogen like Fluridil or Spiro, your results will be even better.

Start with the 5%, and down the line if you want more growth, you can order some of the custom made 15% solutions.

Thanks a lot Leatherface.I appreciate your time and input.Re-growth is definitely what I am after if it is indeed possible.I hear for some it’s just not possible.I will probably fall into that category with my luck.

try the exercise at Home - Hair Loss Is Reversible

I just started, but I wont notice anything because I have a full head of hair. I just do it for prevention.
