Propecia problems?

So how do you know that minox will not fuck you up in the long run? Nobody knows exactly how it works. Potassium channel opener, huh? I got the worst cardiac arrhythmia while on minox but I am fine with the fin since my first dose seven years ago.
Life is short anyway.

Propecia, but like the thread says it has issues.

I haven't failed, I've found 10,000 ways that don't work. Thomas Edison (1847-1931)

Anyone taking Propecia/Proscar for male pattern baldness is crazy. Dihydrotestosterone is the bodies master androgen (3-5 TIMES stronger than testosterone). Critical for libido, well-being, confidence, low body fat, muscle mass. DHT is what makes a man act, behave and FEEL LIKE A MAN. I’d seriously reconsider topicals or scrap the quest, altogether. Lots of dudes experience irreparable damage to libido and mental health from extended use. Check male hair-loss forums. DHT is indispensable to male health. Think about it, guys. Ever hear of a popular medication for healthy women that destroys estrogen?

Oh, dear. Another “sky-is-falling” guru.

Thanks for your input. I guess.

I’ve been on the drug for more than 10 years with ZERO side effects. My libido is excellent (a bare glimpse of porn gets me hard) and I’ll be 60 next year. My mental health is excellent as well.

There are some who have problems, but your rant is over the top. (IMO) It would be helpful if you’d provide a link to an appropriately scientific web site backing up your claims.

I’ve also been on Fin for 10 years. My libido has been fine until recently and I don’t attribute this recent decline to Fin. I’ve recenly started working out again (having quit for a while) and am amazed at how quickly I’ve added muscle mass.

I used it and was one of the unfortunate guys. It didn’t really help my hair loss and I took it for about 5 months. There were no sides for about 4 months then I noticed my nipples were “puffy” which I never noticed before. I searched the internet looking for explanation and came to the conclusion that it was down to the propecia. This was disappointing but I would still say guys should try it before running for the hills about some of its affects. I want to ask if anyone on here has turned to spiro cream for help? I recently got some from Dr Lee but to tell the truth I’m a little scared as I already dislike what the propecia did to my nipples and spiro is a lot stronger although you use a lot less. Any success stories with spiro that didnt happen with propecia? Also, do you guys use ketoconazole shampoo? I find the 2% really dries out my scalp and so Im thinking of getting the 1% one as it is supposed to have a mild anti-DHT affect.

I agree with all you have said except the part about being crazy if you take it because some people don’t seem to be affected by the sides at all and some may not even realize they have symptoms at all because they are so mild. I know with me when I was on for several years I didn’t even miss that 10% drop off in my sex drive until I went off and it came back.

Been taking Finasteride for 13 years. My dick is a steel rod whenever I want it to be.

Some get sides, most don’t. Let’s also remember; the mind is a powerful thing.

And that’s one to grow on.

"Look what your brother did to the door!"

Ordered some more of my topical stuff, next best thing to Propecia, so far I have been holding my own with it. And I make it last I don’t put on that much so I’m really impressed with how it as worked considering I cheap out with it. Money is tight and got to make it last.

Westla, I don’t doubt your knowledge, nor disregard your opinions, but surely you must admit that finasteride/propecia can be very detrimental. This is based off of it’s mechanism alone. Minoxidil is another story.

I’ll admit that any drug can cause problems for some people. I don’t include finasteride in that category. I suppose mostly due to my own experience, but also from reading the research findings.

Note the source of his information. If you go to a web site where everyone has the same problem, and the forum managers refuse to allow opposite/alternate views to be posted, what kind of source do you think you have? I’d say not a very good one. As far as I can see achilles28 never told us about his personal experience with the drug. He did feel he should tell anyone using it that we’re “crazy” and to list the dire consequences to our manhood if we continue. I felt he was out of line in that regard.

Minoxidil? Isn’t that another thread. :)

Just a warning about Genhair.com, when you order do not use your regular email they will spam the shit out of you, not from them but they sell your email. I’m getting about 75 spams a day now. As far as the product it took about to weeks to get, so no problems on that end. Just make a disposable email and use that.
