Propecia Is Not Safe

A bunch of people here mindlessly tout “Propecia is safe”. "Because they believe that their doctor says so”.and that the “public says so”.

Ignoring BLATANTLY the fact When the very mechanism by which IT HAS to work that by reducing the Male Hormones, HAS SERIOUS long-term effects that are not detectable Nor are able to be studied in the laboratory.

I firmly believe, that the MAKERS of Propecia know full willingly that their products causes irreparable and damaging effects to Men , and THEY STILL continue to sell it and promote it and convince doctors Because It is a Billion dollar Business For them. (REMEMBER THE VIOX SCANDAL, MERCK)

Don’t be FOOLED by some Pharmaceutical company trying to make a quick buck off of you , and you Suffering by loosing your Manliness.

Testosterone is needed for the body during late adulthood for the proper development of male features, jaw,to think and act like a man. What happens if you play god and fuck with your hormones?
It doesn’t shrink your Jaw, It *could* prevent you from reaching your full potential jaw because you didn’t have the testosterone hormone in correct Manly Doses.

Also,
Do you want to act like a Puzzy for ever? How unattractive is that to a women. I know some of you who post exceptions here.but read the above two paragraphs again.
Bottom Line;

You are NOT God..

Pharmaceutical companies ARE NOT God..

Don’t trust the Pharmaceutical companies by putting dangerous chemicals in your body.

I bet TP’s left nut, they find Propecia harmful under their review..
( P.s. I DO have more Sources, but I can’t post until I get permission from other people)

Peace!

I do not agree. Firstly-PROPECIA does not influence level of testerone! It influences ‘5-Alfa’ which makes DHT out of testosterone!!!

Secondly, I take PROPECIA for two years now as I do not want to be bald as my father. I have not seen ANY side effects….I repeat ANY! I feel great…no problem with erection(can fuck 2-3 times a day…I am 27y). I also do train my muscles(amateur ‘body building’)and I have not seen any negative effect here neither!

So calm down please… :) You can not generalize like this !

No problem, get your sperm count done by the doctor.

Disi,

What I meant to add above was this:

DO You KNOW what ‘5-alfa’ is also responsible for ? A side effect of Propecia Is turns Semen Watery , and Low sperm Count

Which could mean no kids for you in the future.

No one can say for certain, but Is this a risk you are willing to take to save your hair.

Only you can decide that, but for me it is not worth my future generations for some hair.

I was fortunate to do the research instead of believing mainstay media and catching this early enough to save myself from potential harm.

I don’t know whether or not finasteride is safe, but here I agree with disi.

Finasteride blocks the conversion of testosterone to DHT which has actually been shown to raise testosterone levels.

I have struggled, on and off, with the idea of taking Propecia (or its generic equivalent). It certainly seems to be effective at slowing the genetic process, but every time I think about taking it, I don’t.

At least a good doctor can give you an undetectable hair transplant!

Plus, Nizoral and spironolactone seem to be pretty decent topical DHT inhibitors.

I have not heard about it. Next time I will visit my doctor I will ask if she knows about any problems with propecia and semen. She already has more than 100 patients and none of them reported any problem-I visit her each 3 months. Next time I will ask about it and maybe even give my semen for test :)

I believe that smoking or alcohol give you more ‘penis related’ problems than Propecia and nobody seems to be worried about it.

False.

For the Long term.

Although I do agree with you that most people trust their doctor/media way too much, I dont think you have done enough research on propecia.

Long term side effects can be studied. The reason they have not been studied is because of the fact that propecia is a relatively young drug.

Some side effects have been observed. The main one is erectile dysfunction. This happens in 6-19% of people taking propecia. Compared to paxil and other SSRI’s this isnt that bad.

Propecia is a anti-androgen. It was introduced in 1992 to stop the hypertrophy of the prostate in men at risk for prostate cancer. 50% of men above the age of 50 have some prostate hyperplasia. For men, prostate hypertrophy is like death and taxes.

In studies propecia was found to have an interesting side effect. In some users it stopped, and in some cases, regrew hair. So, in 1997 the FDA approved propecia for the treatment of male pattern hair loss.

A good doctor (which is very hard to find) should inform you about the possible side effect of erectile dysfunction caused by propecia. If your doctor is recommending propecia it would be because you have one of two problems: Benign prostatic hyperplasia or male pattern hair loss. It is up to you to make a choice. Prostate cancer vs. 6-19% chance of erectile dysfunction. Or, Baldness vs. 6-19% chance of erectile dysfunction.

I think you had well intentions posting this, but I also think you need to research a little more before posting.

Where are you getting your information? Post your sources, otherwise you are making blind statements.

You post research Done by the Drug Companies which I have said before I do not find credible.

I guess I am making blind statements, Then.

I’m starting to believe that Vanburen works for Hair Club For Men. You consistently state serious side effects or discredit somebody’s argument without stating sources relating to your “specific” comment. If you want to state your “opinion” then that is just fine but you should clarify that is what it is.

For example: “In my opinion, finasteride should not be taken by anybody by anybody who is still developing, especially under the age of 18” (actually, I honestly believe that). On a side note, I have not seen a large sum of people who lose their hair before the age of 18 although I have seen it.

For people curious about finasteride, here are some links:

First off,

I say in the first post, there are subjective things and things that can not be studied in the laboratory and some things that the Drug Companies will not purposely test for in their studies.

Secondly, I can not tell my sources because I need to get their permissions.

I only post this , because I feel ultimately you have to decide for yourself whether this is a risk worth taking.

Man Vs Hair, life vs hair

In lieu of your statements, I will clarify myself.

It is my opinion, Propecia poses risk that greatly outweight it’s benefits.
It is my opinion, Marketing agencies and lobbying agencies are doing their best to blind you from seeing beyond these risks to get at your wallets.

I’ve got to go, I’ve had enough posting for 1 day and need to get work done.
Peace
