Polysorbate 80

Polysorbate 80

Hi all,
Has anyone out there tried Polysorbate 80 for hair loss? I first read about it on Dr W Wong’s website, where he mentioned that it had positive results for the treatment of hair loss, without any impact on libido or testosterone levels.

My hairline is slowly receding from the temples. I would like to stop it while I can (I’m 28.). Can anyone comment on how effective polysorbate is in comparison with Finasteride? My prerequisites are that whatever treatment I use does not have long term impact on my health, and no impact on libido or testosterone levels.

I have read about one study indicating that there is a link between polysorbate intake and infertility. This is scary, however I have only read of one study making this claim, and it may be related to oral intake of the substance (polysorbate is often used in ice cream products, apparently).

Thanks for any info

I remember in the 80s it is what everyone used before the release of topical medicines like Rogaine/Minoxidil.

I don’t think it is very effective to prevent hair loss but there are three reasons you may want to continue:

1) It is inexpensive
2) It doesn’t hurt - at least it cleans & promotes healthy hair
3) It is not anti-androgenic like Rogaine/Minoxidil, therefore no weakening of your cock.

Does rogaine weaken erections?

Rogaine hasn´t have any anti-androgen characteristic.It´s a vasolidator.

I was looking on Google and there seems to be some people experiencing ED with rogain but this could be just people who would have gotten ED anyway but were using rogain at the time? Sorry Starch I’m not meaning to hijack the thread?

You are correct - my mistake. Substitute PROPECIA (finasteride) into my message and then it makes more sense.

Fortunately, the greater point toward the safety of Polysorbate 80 is still true.
