More energy, happier state of mind?

Is there anything I can take that will give me more energy and a simply happier mood? I’m tired of being tired all the time.

I try to get plenty of sleep but it’s hard for me to quiet my mind and I’m also very light sleeper. For some reason I woke up at 4 am this morning and wasn’t able to go back to sleep till about an hour later. The only sound was the noise of the rain and the only thing keeping me up was my brain. Stuff like that happens too often.

So actually I’m looking for something natural (not something bad or habit forming that has sexual side effects like my dick falling off) that can help me sleep and stay asleep until it is my time to wake up. As well as something that gives energy and can make me feel better. BTW I am perfectly healthy and plan to stay that way. I currently do workouts in my home three times a week. Crunches, pushups, squats and other stuff I can do with a bar.

If it matters I’m 23 and taking a supplement regimen. But I don’t know if anything is having an effect because I don’t feel any different from before I started taking them.

My stuff
NOX3 3000 mg (twice a day)
Vitamin C 1000 mg
Tongkat Ali 800 mg (I got this from a site called Swanson and I’m not sure how potent it is)
Calcium 1000 mg
Magnesium 400 mg
Zinc 25
Pygeum 500 mg
Tribulus Terrestris 500 mg
Lecithin 1200 mg

A while back some people were raving about GABA on here helping them sleep and be fully rested. It is OTC stuff and not too unaffordable. That would take care of your light sleeping. Of course, I am the opposite of you, I am a deep sleeper. I slept through 3 workers with sledge hammers smashing the tiles off the wall for a few hours in the bathroom next to where my bed was.

People swear that a good amount of exercise makes them untired. Basically you give up an hour to being more fit and the rest of the day is so easy.

I know Lewd Ferrigno personally.

Vitamin B-12 is believed to be good for energy. Since B vitamins work well together a B complex vitamin is sold. The B complex label that only shows 100% daily value of B-12 probably won’t do much for giving you energy. The B complex bottle I have contains 75 mcg of B-12 and that’s 1250% daily value. I bought it at the grocery store.

I didn’t see a multi vitamin listed. Some vitamins and minerals shouldn’t be taken at high doses and a good multi vitamin can supply these. One a Day for men is reasonably priced and a good choice.

Does walking up very early in the morning and not being able to fall back asleep happen to you often?

Try and eat lots of bananas………happy fruit and good for your dreams :D

You mention “happier mood” at the beginning of your post. Have you been feeling emotionally down? Sleep disturbances can be a symptom of depression. If this were the case, treating the depression directly may solve the sleep issue.

I’m looking into GABA right now. It’s fairly cheap too. Lot of places mention its benefit to sleep.

Last night I was awakened by what sounded like a dog and the high pitched scream of a small animal. It almost sounded like a demon dog eating a squirrel. That woke me up around 4 am again. It took me a while to go back to sleep. Also if I’m stressed or worried about something its really hard to fall asleep.

I’ve been feeling emotionally down for the past several years. But its cure and cause is obvious. I just need one pusszak a day and I’ll be fine. But I can’t refill my prescription so I’m looking for other sources to feel better.

Bannanas eh?

The reason I asked if you wake up very early often (with difficulty falling back asleep) is because it is a very common, yet underreported symptom of depression. It’s called “Early Morning Awakening”….imagine that!?

Anyway if your symptoms of persistent sadness and frequent EMA’s have lasted longer than 2 weeks. I would recommend you get some professional advice.

Good luck and I hope you feel better!!

This may be too obvious, but have your cut caffeine from your diet?

With a sup list like that, are you shooting like Peter North yet? Has it improved your cum output?

Maxtro,

Here’s a couple of suggestions:

1) A light snack of turkey breast meat maybe an hour before bed so nothing else interferes with its digestion and/or absorption - the biochemistry is turkey meat is rich in the protein tryptophan, a presursor to the formation of serotonin (a neurotransmitter) which is responsible for both sleep and the sense of wellbeing. Another trick is to snack on just turkey after a good workout or especially after a brisk, long walk. Walking all by itself helps stimulate neurotransmitter formation because of bilateral coordination/motion as enhanced by walking. Sunshine helps too as it stimulates vitamin D formation. The reason you want to take the turkey on an empty stomach is that tryptophan is low man on the totem pole in terms of competing for receptor sites that effect transfer across the blood/brain barrier.

2) Melatonin - say 3 milligrams with a small glass of milk just before bedtime can give a person a deep, restful sleep. Some dreams appear in technicolor.

Hope this helps,

MrTiPS

Maxtro,

My wifes is stressed to the max as a schoolteacher, and, she is a very light sleeper. She uses an electric hummer that generates soft, “white noise” that drowns out most distractive normal noises that would otherwise cause her to wake up.

Cheers,

MrTiPS

Nothing makes me feel better than lifting weights regularly. Usually I lift 3 times a week, I take a week or two off every now and then to ‘decondition’; during my time off, I feel like a slug.

Hmm, I might have EMA. But its a little different. On an average day I wake up around 6 am then go back to sleep and wake up around 8:30-9ish. I’m usually in bed by 12. I wouldn’t be surprised if I have depression but I don’t know if I can get help since I’m don’t have any health insurance and I only do part-time work and school.

Number 1,

My caffeine intake is very low. I usually only have about 3 cans of soda a week. I drink a lot of water, juice, and chocolate/strawberry milk. I don’t drink coffee.

Yeah I’m taking a lot of stuff that’s supposed to make me the next North but I haven’t really had a chance to see if it works. I haven’t jerked in a couple of days and I’ll see what impact I have tonight.

MrTiPS,

I hate turkey so that’s not an option. But I’ll look into Melatonin. Its very cheap stuff. So I’ll get some.

I used to have a “sound spa” thing that made sounds. My brother took over it so I started hating the thing. But since I haven’t sleep at my parent’s house in a year I might try it again.

Insane_Man,
I lift about three times as well but I only do a small number of exercises. I’m only doing squats, and arm curls with weights. I don’t have a bench yet.
