Minoxidil on the penis

12

This is what I think as well. On the surface it seems that minoxidil will work somehow, but how come we have never heard of anything in the past 10 years or so? I won’t mind trying it but I don’t want to grow some hair on my penis!

You will grow hair on your palms too….

I know Lewd Ferrigno personally.

The reason why nobody hears of minoxidil being used to improve erection is because medicine has now found the Nitric Oxide Synthase enzyme. Not only that, we are now able to inhibit the breakdown of nitric oxide to improve erectile strength.

In other words, Viagra changed the whole scene. Plus it’s licensed for the use of erectile dysfunction and you don’t get pseudoacromegaly because of it.

The last study is 14 years old and I haven’t heard much about minoxidil being used for impotence. Apparently their suggestion for that use wasn’t widely accepted.

Topical application would limit systemic effects which are what would be required for any acromegaly-type side effects. Topical application would allow for higher levels in the local tissues with smaller dose. Not to mention the study states that the patient was using minoxidil orally at higher than normal doses for a extended period of time.

As for it’s use in impotency, there are a number of compounds that are not currently used but have been demonstrated to have effectiveness. As man_head states, sildenafil changed the avenue of current erectile dysfunction treatment.

There is another effect of minoxidil mentioned in the studies - that it can cause tissue to grow. That would be interesting for PE!

If it’s causing pseudoacromegaly it would seem that it’s increasing GH. People have injected GH and experienced no permanent growth in penile tissues. Hell look at bodybuilders and hte amounts of GH they take and yet no growth in that area. Plus the minoxidil would need to be taken orally and too many problems arise from that method of delivery.

Viagra did change the scene and gave us a better understanding of PDE5 inhibitors.

I think the relevant question here is whether minoxidil works locally, and hence increasing the size of the penis when applied topically.

No, it would not have to cause GH release, as GH is known to impart many of it’s effects from release of IGF1 and 2, which some studies show minoxidil increases locally.

It has been studied for topical application in impotency, so I agree that it either has little tissue enhancing effects or the doses required were never tried, otherwise some reports would have surfaced.

If anybody has tried this, do let us know.

I did a search on minoxidil again. There are quite a few interesting articles about it. Just Google minoxidil+elastin, minoxidil+potassium or minoxidil+penis. While I was reading, all that interesting stuff about the potentiators regarding the “patent” started running through my mind. I thought “Hell, try it!” and so I did. I know it sounds crazy but there is something I can report although I know I will have to repeat the experiment in order to be sure that the effect was due to the minox…

I used a standard 5% minoxidil solution and applied in onto my penis, starting from the glans half way down the shaft (I didn’t want that stuff to touch my balls). After one hour I had a great time watching some porn doing my current girth routine alternating 10min dry jelq/squeezes and 10min pumping. I can’t really remember what the total time was, I think something about 40 to 50min. Afterwards, I saw some red dots on my glans that disappeared after a few hours but what was remarkable was this ugly huge donut. I never had a donut like this before, the complete upper shaft was swollen like hell. This all happened a week ago and I can still feel my foreskin is somewhat larger than before. So what I can report is that, in my case, the minoxidil did improve the elasticity of the skin. I think I will not try it again though, I hate donuts!

BTW, no hairs on the snake yet :)

That sounds like a side effect to me……

I definitely recommend this to all the guys doing foreskin restoration!

Shiver played around with the idea.

He thought a lot about this kind of thing. You guys should read his posts if you are serious about exploring this. I wouldn’t use it though. I am not ready to try it though. We don’t know how it works so we don’t know what it might do to the prostrate, testicles, etc.

I did a few searches to see if it regulates PGE1 or collagen. I really didn’t look for very long. I didn’t find anything of interest in terms of PGE1 but there is some evidence of it modulating collagen metabolism.
