Hello, I got some good quality maca from 1fast400.com

I can tell the shit is high quality as it tastes like ass and smells like a donkeys sweaty balls.

So I figure this stuff is as alive as I’m going to get it.

Says like 300mg 3x a day

So it says that 1/4 tsp is like 800mg

I’ve been taking like 1/8 - 1/4 tsp 3x a day and not noticing anything.

I’ve read of people taking a whole teaspoon of it at a time but I’m worried about side effects.

Any help is appreciated, I’m feeling nothing with this stuff but thinking I’m not taking enough of it.

I dunno, I got a 5 lb. bag about a year ago probably, took 1 tablespoon in my protein shake, every morning and every evening. It didn’t do anything for me. As far as side effects go, Maca is a food source, not a drug, not even an herbal supplement, so I’ve never heard of any side effects. It’s basically a root vegetable like a radish or turnip, so knock yourself out. You may wanna back off if you find yourself so horny you’re chasing goats around, but to each his own I suppose.

If I get horny enough to want to fuck a goat, I’ll be happy, and I’ll fuck the goat :D

The directions are ridiculous. I take it by the teaspoon until I feel the warm tingly maca sensation on my chest and arms. I’ve tried 1 - 2 gram doses at a time, and that did nothing noticeable either. It’s a good quality maca, but I don’t buy the fact that it being an extract means I only take 1/4 the amount.

Try mixing a teaspoon with your coffee and report back! I’m starting to think you are a hardhead man, and that nothing will affect you!

edit: I cap this myself and take 5 to 7 one gram capsules when I need it. Usually half an hour before working out. Or mix it with decaf. Coffee seems to mask/blend the taste pretty well.

Also, if you suffer from anxiety disorder, this stuff can be a godsend.

Yeah 5 - 7 really gets me going. Supposedly it has to build up in your system for you to notice it, but I was feeling the effects full on after one big dose.

Even though it’s an adaptogenic, it’s not like gensing and gives me no jitters or heart racing. I’m the bigger baby, half a cup of coffee makes me want to puke I’m so sensitive to caffeine and stimulants.

All a big dose does is makes me feel a bit hot (not an uncomfortable feeling at all, no sweats…just makes me feel warm inside and on my chest), and makes me somewhat giddy.

Sounds somewhat like what opiates do to you. Hmm…… Interesting.

Hmmm never done opiates (only synthetic), but no it’s not quite like that. When I get the giddy feeling first thing I do is want to hit the weights. Spiru makes me want to run, maca makes me want to lift. *shrug

Maca is claimed to have nootropic properties as well, and I can’t say if it’s placebo or not here, but it does seem to help me concentrate, when I’m not preoccupied with sex lol

It’s wise to be careful and take it slow with supplements. I wouldn’t jump into 5-7 grams at once. Personally 2-3 grams work fine for me. I’ve taken 6 grams by mistake a couple of times and it didn’t affect me adversely but we all react differently.

I don’t have trouble getting a hard on. I mostly take maca just because it helps me be all I can be.

kfarrelldba I would up the does slowly and maybe try it in a green tea. Good luck.

Don’t see the harm in bumping it up slowly until you see effects though. I know several people who have had to take a loading dose of maca at first too. I guess that’s me included, but my loading dose became my regular dose.

I get maca powder by the kilogram from macaweb.com, and take one teaspoon of it every morning with breakfast. I don’t know how many grams that is.

Maca can cause sleep problems for some people if taken late in the day.

Well I’m up to 3 1/2 tsp a day and still nothing. I got the 1fast400 stuff. I do notice that I get rock hard when I take it and my cock feels like it’s going to split in 1/2 when I orgasm (good feeling not bad) but no overall energy increase. What I’m seeing is the norm is to take up to 3g a day, which is around what I’m taking but I’m not getting the tingly feelings.

I’m going to do a liver and colon cleanse after the holidays and all the garbage eating and see if that helps.
