How To Take L-Arginine
There seems to be less than adequate expertise on the “how to” of taking L-Arginine. I bought one brand that simply said take one pill per day (500 mg). Another brand suggested 1 pill per day (also 500 mg) taken WITH a meal. Before I started buying straight L-Arginine, I tried VasoRect brand (a combination of L-Arginine and Calcium, which supposedly supports the effectiveness of the amino acid). VasoRect says take 2 pills in the morning and 2 in the afternoon, but no other instructions. None of the L-Arginine products I have seen tell you if they should be taken with water, milk, juice, or whether to take with lots of liquid or if that even matters. My L-Lysine says to take with a full glass of water, preferably after a meal.
So, I am confused about HOW to take L-Arginine for most effectiveness. The consensus among PE-ers seems to be that it should be taken separate from other amino acids, on an empty stomach, and is best taken before retiring at night. Is there any science behind that recommendation, and are there valid references to this. Or is this all conjecture or theory based on anecdotal evidence or personal experience??
