I’m studying for exams at the moment and I take the following supplements:

Ginko Biloba, said to be memory enhancing
Vinpocetine, nootropic/ memory enhancer
Ginseng, good for motivation and power
Ephedra, good for motivation (I don’t take ephedra every day)
Caffeine
Soja Lecitine

Foods high in choline are also considered brain food such as all fish, salt water and fresh water fish, Turkey, Ham,Beef. Are all high in Choline.

I never got into coke as a recreational drug, but when I was in college I always bought a quarter to half gram of cocaine around finals time. I just did small snorts out of a little spoon every few hours as I studied. It helped me stay awake and focused.

In hindsight, I don’t condone that for anyone else. Several people I grew up with wound up addicted, broke and in one case, in prison as a result of cocaine use. But they were pretty hard core. Back in the early 80s cocaine use was so prevalent the cops didn’t bother with my little gram-a-year ass.

It would be nice if coca leaves were legally available.

As for the rest of the day I have small meals, like chickenbreast, very often thuna, pasta, sandwiches…

What’s choline? And what is it good for? Sorry I’m too busy/lazy for looking it up :D

I think I will stay away from caine, some friends of mine are selling it but it’s like an unwritten law that none of us will ever take some.

I’m in the same boat at the moment, and I take Omega-3 capsules, Gingko Leaf concentrated liquid extract, Ginseng, and Bach’s White Chestnut flower remedy to prevent daydreams and other unwanted thoughts… but thats more due to the stress/depression i was suffering from before. Actually I still am suffering from it a bit, but a large weight was lifted from me when I has an exam the other day and felt I did well in it. The weight cam off before I even had the exam actually… maybe it was just me “giving up” on the stress at the last hour! :p

Unfortunately my diet leaves a lot to be desired. I live in halls and the food provided (that we have to pay for, incidentally, and takes up most of our loans so we don’t have enough left to buy decent food) is of the lowest possible quality (goes to the lowest bidders :( ). Whenever I go out for food though (yeah I can go out to eat occassionally for peoples’ birthdays and other social occassions but cant afford weekly shopping) I always make sure I eat something healthy.

Choline is I believe a precursor to acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter. I think choline itself does not cross the blood-brain barrier though?

“Smart Nutrition” makes a bunch of formulas I have used. You can also get some drugs for alzheimers that are used in europe like selegeline, galantamine, and hydergine. Vassopressin apparently helps you form new memories. As far as ginseng, I think only siberian, or oriental ginseng is supposed to be mentally activating. Adrafanil/Modafinil is another one that is slightly newer but getting a lot of press. I can’t remember which is which though. I personally have a mixed formula. You can also chew some nicotine gum for shits and giggles. You should use the search feature of teh site to search for all these terms. They have all been mentioned in other threads.

When I have exams and need to study a lot,I drink Red Bull.The engredients are very beneficial,especially when you are tired and deconcetrated.Keeps you awake and helps you focus.

Coffee. It’s great for the short-term memory.

Chicken me too, I drink lots of red bull, but in France they don’t sell energy drinks with taurine so I have to take some when I’m in Luxembourg or else I take some Speedboost from Joe Weider’s.
