Getting results from any herbal supplement is dependant on two main factors: a.) your general level of health and b.) the form/dosage that you are taking the herb in.

My first question for Reiki is, what is your general level of health? Are you fully and radiantly healthy? Probably not or you wouldn’t have the flagging erection. Therefore, any herb will take longer to become digested within your system and to cleanse your system to the level where it can begin to become effective. If you are really tox’ed out then some body renewal/cleansing would be in order if you really want to start getting max. benefit from herbal medicines. And your diet? The shittier the diet, the more crud the herbal compounds have to wade through to make it safely to their receptor sites.

Second question, how are you taking this stuff? Oh yeah, pills. Well, Ginko Biloba, as mentioned, is not as effective when it is taken in plain, powdered herb form. Standardized is better. HOWEVER, standardized powdered herb cannot, and does not, compare to standardized 50:1 alcohol tincture of Ginko Biloba. Powdered standardized is a VW bug and alcohol tinctured 50:1 extract is a turbo charged muscle car. Many of Ginko’s active principles are more effectively removed from the plant if alcohol is used as the solvent.

In my experience, even with a relatively healthy body and using the standardized alcohol tincture, there IS STILL a lag effect in the time between when you start taking it and the time you start to see/feel it working. Therefore, using the powdered capsules, and perhaps not being all that healthy/clean inside you could find yourself waiting a LONG time to see results.

However, if you want to see maximum results in the quickest possible time, I would take Jarrow Formulas’ 50:1 standardized Ginko Biloba tincture alongside HerbPharm’s Yohimbe tincture (also alcohol based) and just about anyone’s alcoholic Astragalus root tincture. These, taken together as a formula will greatly aid the absorption, uptake of the others. Herbs just work better in tandem with other herbs- period. This is a blaster of a formula for men’s health and should start to help very quickly; 10 days, tops.

As with any other medicines, if you are taking any Western medicines, check online to see if there are any contraindications between the herbs and your pharmeceuticals. There are quite a few reliable places to do this online. Google “herb drug interactions” and you’ll get the best ones at the top of your list.

If you determine the formula to be safe for you I would then take 4 droppersful of Ginko, 2 of Yohimbe and 1 of Astragalus, all together, 3 times a day on an empty stomach. taking herbs with foods can definitely affect efficacy/absorbtion/outcome.

Good luck, hope this helps.

Just bumping this up to see if some of the guys in this thread that starting taking Ginkgo have noticed any effects yet. Today is day 15 for me - and I really haven’t noticed anything yet.

I’m going on a month and a half and haven’t noticed anything yet as well. First L-arginine and now this, seems like nothing has an effect on my body.

Goal: To gain that evasive girth I so desperately need.

Only thing I can tell after about 3 weeks on Ginko and L-Arginine is that I’m back to being hyper sensitive when trying to edge. Yes my flaccid is a little fuller but there is a price to pay for that.

The main factor in whether or not your supplements will affect you (I’ve found) is your other dietary factors and lifestyle habits. If you eat lots of heavy foods- dairy, meat, fried foods, alcohol, and etc. or consume intoxicants regularly, your body will find it more difficult to get a boost from herbal supplementation. Many herbal supplements have a gradual and subtle effect that builds up over time. However, if your body is kept busy processing toxins from the metabolites of poor diet, lack of exercise, or heavy intoxicant useage, the subtleties of herbal medicines will take MUCH longer to become obvious benefits. If you’re eating really cleanly, keeping cool with the smoke and drink, and exercising, then you will also be more in touch with your body/mind complex and be more aware of what’s going on in your body. A person in tip-top shape will get such a charge out of certain herbal medicines that he might confuse the effects with allopathic, chemical type medicines (chewing on an inch or so of 10 year old red korean ginseng comes to mind). However, a “typical american” with a borderline diet who consumes a 12 pack of beer every three days or so might barely notice any effect at all.

I’ve just bought some Ginkgo Biloba today.
I read this thread a few days ago and decided that I wanted to try this out.

‘Holland and Barret’, 30mg, 60 tablets.

A bit of a brief history:
About a year and a half ago I took some Ginkgo to help improve my circulation but had no idea that it has the effects reported in this thread. At the same time I was taking Avena Sativa and Muirma Puama which I was taking mainly for improvement for my erection quality.
About two weeks in I did feel some improvement and actually started getting spontaneous erections. But I thought it was to do with the Avena Sativa and Muira Puama, I had no idea that it may have actually been the Ginkgo Biloba which was possibly the catalyst that had created the changes, I didn’t even consider it. So after reading this thread it’s made me reconsider that earlier experience and to seriously try the Ginkgo Biloba properly and give it a proper go. I wasn’t taking much either, certainly not anything over the bottle recommendations.

So back to now.
I was thinking of taking 180mg a day.
I do suffer from ED to some extent, I don’t get spontanteous erections, or nocturnal ones, and I can get erect with manual stimulation but the erection pretty much immediately subsides if I stop.

1) So I was thinking, should I take 3 tablets two times a day, or 2 tablets 3 times a day to make up the 180mg daily dose?
2) Does it make any difference if you take the tablets with meals or on an empty stomach?
3) How long should I give it if it doesn’t work before I increase the dose?
4) If I need to increase the dose, should I up it to 210mg or 240mg a day?
5) Does it or should it increase flaccid size?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

I have been taking a 80mg dose of 2% standardized Ginkgo for 30 days now. Around day 14 I started getting incredible erections! As a guy who had some serious ED issues all I can say is:
I am more then satisfied! KP, you the man for suggesting it. I had sex 5 times in a row in one day, haven’t done that in years!

If you are young, I don’t think you need a heavy dosage of the stuff, but I do recommend physical activity, lots of vitamin C, and lots of rest.

Wishing and hoping for the best - yup your doing it wrong.

Yes, L-arginine is good stuff. It works as well as Viagra, but safer

Partially based on this thread and my positive experience with nootropics historically, I am going to start ginko biloba into my vitamin regime. I will attempt to remember to report anything I notice in four or so weeks.

Are you splitting the dosages?. I just bought a bottle of 40mg x 120 caplets, standerdized. Just wondering if I should take two at once or one in the morning and other in the evening. Thanks and let me know.

How is it working for you now? Is it 2% or 24% extract? 24% extract is the standard extract.

:D

Good test for Ginkgo.

Before: I'd like to show you something I'm very proud of, but you'll have to move real close.

After: I\'d like to show you something I\'m very proud of, but you guys in the front row will have to stand back.

I have went off of ginkgo for three weeks I do this with everything I take. AAKG and Green tea are filling the Ginkgo gap pretty good though as far as erection are concerned. The problem is, is that the damn neuropathy is starting to get bad again. So when I get my new order of Ginkgo I will go right back on it.
