Are there any threads here that talk about what foods you can eat to increase the levels of these chemicals, like L-arginine and others? I just was just wondering if there was an alternative to taking the supplements.

They are called amino acids not chemicals. If I remember right there is no big quantities of L- arginine in any food source, but many other amino acids are present plentiful. I have no reference in my hands right now, but tuna fish have many amino acids. You have to find some chart to find what is in where.

99.99999999% of the public doesn’t physically tax their body enough to justify the use of supplements, even a simple multi vitamin, that’s not to say the use of supplements won’t be beneficial. The vast moajority of people believe that a pill is the solution to all problems we are taught from birth in this country to think if there is a problem pop a pill. Unless your a Bulgarian athlete training upwards of 5 times a day with weights consistently over 95% of your maximum or a elite sprinter performing 20+ 200m sprints each under 21 sec in a single workout then you really should address your diet. Once your diet is as perfect as it can be and you still experience a maladaptive response to training then it’s time to start taking supplements. The advocates of the mass supplement consumption’s greatest argument is that foods grown today lack the nutritional value necessary to support the human body properly because of depleted soils and the use of pesticides. To an extent this is true. The solution, and this is a simple solution given to me by a strength coach trained in Eastern bloc and Russian training methods, eat plenty of lean protein, drink plenty of water and eat 4 times your normal amount of veggies. Sounds crazy and simple but my god it works. I use to take every supplement under the sun a few years back, hell my old man use to sell the things. Once I went on this diet I had never felt better in my life never stronger, never faster, and I never had more control over my body composition and lean muscle mass. Wanna gain weight, no problem, wanna lose weight too no problem. Why does this work better then anything else simple because your not consuming traditional carbs like potatoes or rice you get your caloric needs from the veggies which because your eating so much provide not only your caloric needs but also a massive influx of your bodies badly needed vitamins and minerals. So give it a try, stop taking all those pills and start eating the veggies I like dark green leafy veggies like Kale, spinach, mustard greens, and collard greens.
