Eating late at night

This is one of my biggest downfalls in my losing body fat endeavor. I love midnight snacks. Anything that goes well with milk, especially peanutbutter sandwiches. I have to stop, but I just can’t. So here is my question. Would taking a appetite supressor right after dinner help me stop this or am I just asking for trouble? And “Suck it up lardass and get some self control” is a completely acceptable answer. :D

RTG, late night cravings are tough.

Have you tried sucking on sunflower seeds or chewing gum? This helped me at times. Also, I believe drinking more water can reduce cravings.

I would never tell you to suck it up Fat Ass, you are the man!

I suggest fasting for 1 1/2 days. This will shrink your stomach so you won’t have that many cravings. And when you eat, you’ll be full quicker.

After that, eat slower when you do eat. The urges shall fade away with the memory of your smaller penis. :hanger:

Most appetite supressors have a stimulant effect, so that’s not a good thing to take before you go to bed.

Repeat this to yourself outloud 10 times per day… “I will not eat 3 hours before bedtime”.

Make a few signs (I will not eat 3 hours before bedtime) and hang it on your refrigerator and kitchen cabinets. Tell your family and friends about your late night habits and vow to them you are going to stop eating before bedtime. Believe it or not, this is very effective.

LOL must be something in the air. I’ve just recently started eating PB sandwiches late at night. For some reason I usually am starving right after my PE routine, and for some reason I settled on peanut butter. Who knows why. This is killing me because I’ve been a die hard Atkins boy for almost 6 years and this past month I’ve consumed more bread than I have in the past few years. (Peanut Butter just sucks on low carb wraps!)

I’m with JAPP, I find when I take any kind of appetite suppressant after dinner, it usually means I’m up until 4 am or so. Wifey no likey.

Well, if I can’t stop eating late at night when I’m not suppose to eat I don’t think there is much chance of me giving up eating whem I am suppose to eat. :) I will, however, take your advice and slow down when I eat. My wife always tells me that because I am usually done eating by the time they get their plates fixed…lol. I amazed my friend the other day when I ate a Big Mac from McDonalds in 5 bites. I don’t know why I eat so fast. I don’t even come from a big family.

Anyway, thanks for the tips guys.

If it’s got to be peanut butter, how about making it r e a l peanut butter not that skippy plastic goo. Try 100% peanut butter, and mix in some sliced fruits for good measure, like strawberries and bananas.

Remember, fasting like a monk at night won’t do fuck all to beat the bulge if you’re eating like fat Albert during the day.

Fasting for 1.5 days sounds hard, but if you get past it, you’ll thank me.

Hey Hey Hey, thanks, huff. I really watch what I eat during the day. It’s only when that sun goes down that I turn into a snacking monster. Maybe I’m part werewolf, I dunno. I am very partial to the peanut butter goo, lol. And putting fruit in peanut butter is just blasphemy man! It’s like getting a hot fudge sundae topped with brocoli! :D

I’ll give the 1.5 day fast a try XL. I have to get some teeth filled around lunch-time today. I’ll start then.

RTG, I have the same issue, and it is keeping me from reaching my goals. I am in pretty good shape overall, work out quite a bit, and train in martial arts. But I get that late night craving at 10 pm and have little will to stop it! May have to try XL’s suggestion.

I also think this would help a lot. Externalize your self-standards and you won’t be able to avoid pangs of conscience when you reach for the refrigerator door at midnight.

If it is too hard, slowly work your stomach down to size. If 1.5 days fasting is too much, do half a day fasting, then eat something small. Do that for 2 days, and you’ll get the same result.
