Body's own synthesis of Nitric Oxide hampered by long term use of L-Arginine?

My extremities are always very cold. I am always very fatigued and tired. Do you think this could be because the excessively large amounts of L-Arginine and AAKG that I once took stopped my body from producing normal amounts of Nitric Oxide? I have stopped taking AAKG and L-Arginine for one month.

I would really like someone to say “It can’t be the Nitric Oxide. You are cold and tired because …” but this does concern me. Erections are difficult for me to obtain, but I attribute that to my non-existant libido. However, my absence of libido may be due to my chronic fatigue.

Eat healthier? I had no idea you had to cycle L-arginine, what am I going to do about my pre-workout supplements that are full of it??

You know, I had to look up goitrogens. Shows how much I know. Anyhow, do you own a motor vehicle, being powered by gasoline or diesel? If you do and you have some t3 issue (Which was an educated guess from what you specifically bitched about, hence I am no doctor.), it is like having a deep LOUD bottom end knock in a motor and putting high test or cetene booster into the fuel tank. So that means, it is going do nothing but empty your wallet faster with little to no result.

If you seriously have such issues as you described, why didn’t you go see a health care professional? I hope you have health insurance, if not maybe you should not just buy the magical supplement of the day instead and save your cash for a policy. If you are really young, it will be cheap. I see you bothered to read my links. NOT! t3 problems really don’t go away, they have to be chased out with help. Though one could do it oneself over the counter if absolutely need be, why hamstring yourself?

You really have to come up with a battle plan when you have such a possibility of an illness like that. Be it t3 or CFS, don’t fuck around with it. At least get it ruled out. So until you get that ball moving, your just buying tennis shoes for Stephen Hawkin here.

I don’t think taking too much AAKG will stop your naturally bodies production of nitric oxide, but your body will definitely get a shock when you stop taking it and you will kind of forget what it was like
Without it, well that was the case for me.

I took it for some time and it worked great and then after a while it just stopped working and I think I even developed a slight allergy to l-arginine and my stomache feels terrible after ingesting it. You could try cycling different nitric oxide amino acids such as l-ornithine and l-citrulline malate and give l-arginine a break (maybe l-histidine too but probably best to research it first).

You also say you have a non existent sex drive you could give l-tyrosine a go , seems to be to help some people’s libido’s ,and helps deal with stress things like that, I’m probably going to give it a go soon so I will let you know how I feel on it. Goodluck

I was about to make a thread on cycling L Arginine. How do you guys do it? 2 weeks on, one week off for example?

I can not answer if it down regulates nitric oxide release from continued use. I can only report that I have used many different forms of arginine from different companies. I have maga dosed raw l-arginine for weeks on end. I felt it did nothing at all. Not load increases. No hardness increase. No better ease of obtaining erection.No erection time expansion.It did not enhance my body any different than not using it while working out. I still want to believe it is promising.But for me,it has not been.

Yes, I read somewhere that arginine can upregulate arginase type 2, which reduces NO synthase. Don’t know how to reverse it. Perhaps just give it more time. Or you could try drinking loads of pure cocoa, which down regulates arginase type 2.

I don’t think l-arginine does anything but supplement the supplements and increase sperm production. As I’ve understood from several different boxes of arginine it’s not approved by the food and drug administration. As if that was going to make me feel safer.

Iv been using 1800mg pr day for some months now, together with minerals, vitamins and of course omega3. Can’t say I’ve noticed anything very different. I never get sick or nothing anyways, but ill hype it up in my brain and take whatever placebo I can squeeze out.
