Update:
Prohormone Ban Passed by House and Senate

S.2195, the legislation that in effect re-classifies all prohormones and steroid precursors as controlled substances, has been passed by both the Senate and the House. S. 2195 now moves to the President’s desk for his signature. The President is expected to sign the bill into law by the end of the month. Basically, it’s a done deal.

The new law will ban all prohormones including:

androstanedione (5a-androstan-3,17-dione);

androstenediol—

1-androstenediol (3b,17b-dihydroxy-5a-androst-1-ene);

1-androstenediol (3a,17b-dihydroxy-5a-androst-1-ene);

4-androstenediol (3b,17b-dihydroxy-androst-4-ene); and

5-androstenediol (3b,17b-dihydroxy-androst-5-ene);

androstenedione—

1-androstenedione ([5a]-androst-1-en-3,17-dione);

4-androstenedione (androst-4-en-3,17-dione); and

5-androstenedione (androst-5-en-3,17-dione);

norandrostenediol—

19-nor-4-androstenediol (3b, 17b-dihydroxyestr-4-ene);

19-nor-4-androstenediol (3a, 17b-dihydroxyestr-4-ene);

19-nor-5-androstenediol (3b, 17b-dihydroxyestr-5-ene); and

19-nor-5-androstenediol (3a, 17b-dihydroxyestr-5-ene);

norandrostenedione—

19-nor-4-androstenedione (estr-4-en-3,17-dione); and

19-nor-5-androstenedione (estr-5-en-3,17-dione;

As the bill is currently written, it appears that the law will take effect 90 days after it is signed. Most suppliers have already begun to deplete their inventory in anticipation of the ban.

As every serious bodybuilder knows, Squats are often the exercise that separates the wannabes from the big boys. There’s no doubt that good old Squats are still the best all around muscle developer out there—they not only work to increase muscle-mass in the lower body, they also have a beneficial anabolic effect on the entire body.

The Routine

Here’s an easy way to up the intensity even higher with your Squats and blast your legs to new growth. Some of you may already do this, but if you don’t give it a shot.

Do your regular warm-ups. During your working sets, drop your weight down by about 15%-25%. Perform your Squats as usual—descending to parallel with proper form. However, instead of locking out your knees at the top of the movement, maintain continuous tension on your muscles by stopping short of lock-out and slowly dropping back down to parallel. Repeat for a set of 8-20 reps without locking out until the last rep. You’ll feel your upper legs explode.

Hey Bob,

Thanks for the heads up! What next? Seems the Gov. doesn’t want anybody to get in shape and God forbid get healthy. Considering Aspirin kills more people every year than this stuff ever will… do we ban Aspirin next? How about cars? Don’t get me started on this one! Again thanks for the heads up.

It is a shame that they are doing away with it. The studies were mixed on it either way. However, DHEA is and will be a strong replacement. Take a little higher than the recommended dose, and watch the change. I used to take that back in the day, and I could run around in 35 degree weather with a t-shirt on. I felt no pain when I bumped into walls or dove on the ground in baseball or football. I jacked my bench press up to 500 pounds when I weighed 230 pounds. The energy level was incredible. Just don’t overdo things though.

I agree that M1T should not be available to kids…never knew there was an epidemic of “kids” jacked up on M1T. Have heard of kids huffing paint though. Is M1T as easy to get as spray paint? I just have a problem with somebody telling me what is best for MY BODY. In my travels I have been in countries that “the real thing” is just as available as cough syrup at the local pharmacy…never saw a line of kids,men,women or anybody to buy the stuff and never seen a problem with a bunch of huge musclebound freaks running around robbing houses for their next fix of some anabolic that they can go get at any time. Just think it should be up to us individuals to decide whats best for ourselves is all. Thanks for hearing me out.
