Preventing the donut effect--

Preventing the donut effect--

Through jelqing and clamping, I’ve started to develop the donut effect. How can I prevent it from worsening? Is there a way to treat it?

Just stop whatever you are doing as soon as you detect it.

The donut is always somewhat prominent. It’s not especially visible during or after exercises.

I’m really interested in learning about methods of preventing and/or treating the donut effect. I’m interested in learning more about the severity, long-term effects, prospect of worsening, etc. This is something that ought to be cleared up. A lot of people pawn this off as a side effect of PE— but from my best understanding, lymph fluid build-up (edema?) is not a laughing matter. If you’ve got some insight, please share.

I encourage everyone to look into this issue further. I’m afraid penile edema (the donut effect) is very prevalent in the PE community, and we need to learn more about it. We’re putting a lot of pressure on the penis. Consequently, lymph fluid is building up below the glans. I know everyone seems to think that it’s a nonissue, but I’m not convinced. I want to see more on this…

The outward components of the penis consist of the glans and shaft, these two structures will respond differently to stimulation. The glans is designed to take an incredible beating; it is at the end of the pipe and is robust in nature, usually if a problem occurs it will happen just down from the glans in the trabraculae (near the end of the pipe and not capable of handling the same stress loads as the helmet).

With these limits in mind, you should adjust your exercise to bring both areas to there fullest potential. Genetics will predetermine shapes and symmetries and you may have to make allowances for any inequities. In many ways you are sculpting your penis to it’s new dimensions and overworking and exceeding acceptable stress loads will result in abnormalities occurring.

If your going to go the route of clamping of fleshy tissue you should probably reinforce the weaker areas to prevent the possibility of rupture or other injury. Taping the injury prone areas to add a layer of support can be effective in reducing excessive expansion and minimizing possible damage.

I’ve considered this. I’ll try it out soon.

What is the donut effect?

Goal:8x6

I’ve never had a doughnut last more than half an hour, even the bad ones I used to get pumping. If you are saying this buildup is lasting for days or when you do not clamp something it woefully wrong. Maybe you should lay off clamping a week or so and see if it returns to normal. If you are not clamping as close to the base as possible or if your under wrap is midshaft or to close to the glands you will develop the baseball bat effect which takes longer to go away than the typical doughnut.. Do you pump?

There’s a long but interesting thread in the Pumpers’ Forum about condom pumping. Among the benefits of that is little to no donut effect. Never tried condom-clamping, but maybe that would work, too?

I agree with girtha, the donut effect usually disappeares within the hour. However if you are saying that the buildup of fluid remains for a day or more, than what you probably have is ‘penile lymphodema’, this is where one of the vesels needed for draining lymphatic fluid out of the penis becomes blocked, thus it can take days for the fluid to subside. The main causes of ‘penile lymphodema’ is trauma or strangulation of the penis, and can occure due to clamping without due care.

See my post titled ‘bulge on side of penis after uli’s’ in the injuries section.
