Firm flaccid penis

biff, I really do like what you said. The only thing I know to treat either of the two is to alternate between cold and hot on the penis which supposidly wakes up nerves. Also, to loosen up pelvic floor muscles you can sit on a tennis ball for five to ten minutes. You should be on a hard surface and have the tennis ball between your anus and ball sack.

I would also say that masturbation is bad, however erections are great. If this were the case.

Thats good news venomx, at least there is a way to make things normal. I am not sure of how Cialis works, but if it allows your pelvic muscles to relax, perhapes that is further evidence supporting this theory?

This may be a real dumb question but is the contraction of penis smooth muscle typically found from overtraining your unit (which I have experienced but cured fairly easily by adding rest days and decreasing volume/intensity of my PE workouts) similar to a firm flaccid.

Are theses 2 beasts even remotely related?
Can one lead to the other or are they 2 different beasts?

Thanks in advance.

Does anyone else when they lay down feel there erections bend towards their belly button? To describe this better, it is if one were standing and normally getting an erection at a 9 o’clock angle now getting them at something like a 12 o’clock angle. I have noticed this when my condition gets really bad. There seems to be no blood filling in at the base of the CS during these episodes. Usually for me, this awkward bending goes away in a few days. But I was just wondering if anybody else has experienced this?

Biff, I think you are very right that the BC muscle has something to do with this. I did not think this, but there are two things I am thinking that may hint at the muscles (at least for those of us that can still get a good erection and are not suffering from any form of mild erectile dysfunction).

First, I mentioned I had a terrible case of firm flaccid in February and could not get erections for a few weeks until they came back after I avoided touching my penis at all costs except for putting moisturizer on the dry skin. This got a lot better over the next few months even though I know that the flaccid penis was not quite the same as it used to be, but it was tolerable and definitely not firm flaccid. It was just dryer and pointed more to the left than it had before. I had not been sitting down a lot at a job during these months and things seemed to improve dramatically. My firm flaccid was gone for a few months and came back 3-4 weeks ago. The only change I made is that I now work a normal 8-hour job sitting in an office chair. The extra pressure that is put on my bottom could be tensing up the BC muscle.

Second, we all should consider trying this: At times when the firm flaccid is prominent, try pulling out the penis and observing it’s flaccid stretched length. I have noticed with me that the stretched length is about an inch shorter than usual. I think your BC muscle theory could be a good explanation for this (or possibly the cremaster muscle). I actually tried demonstrating this to my doctor today and was only able to pull it out an inch shy of the normal length and he mentioned that the muscle is tensing up.

Now, if this is plausible, we need to figure out WHY the muscle is tightening up and how to make it stop. Someone mentioned long ago in the thread said he fixed his firm flaccid by doing piriformis stretching. Has anyone gotten results doing piriformis stretching? There is a really good video on youtube called “How to Fix Piriformis Syndrome.”

The muscle relaxers are a good route to go I think. Those that are able to get a prescription for them and try them for a few weeks, please post and let us know if they have helped.

I have firm flaccid and am 100% sure that my symptoms are caused by Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome. This is a form of Prostatitis and most urologists are not familiar with it. I realize that we probably don’t all have the same injury but I am very confident that there are a few on this thread that do have it. I have been seeing a Pelvic Floor Physio Therapist and she has dealt with a lot of injuries like this. It makes total sense to me and I find that these exercises and therapy she has given me has helped. It is a tough disorder to deal with because you have to re-train your body to let go of this tension. Muscle relaxers do not work.

I strongly suggest getting the book “A Headache in the Pelvis”. Most of you have seen a Urologist and have had tests that come back negative. If the Urologist is telling you that there is nothing structurally wrong with your unit then I wouldn’t waste to much time researching venous leakage, peyronies.etc

Go see a Pelvic Floor Specialist and get this book!

Hyperlite, can you give us any techniques you do to help releive some tension?

The stretches help me when I remember to do them. I think it is the BC muscle tightening up for sure. We should all try the tennis ball thing.

I am definitely looking into doing some exercises is order to relieve the tension in this area and will purchase this book. I agree with your that muscle tension is a huge culprit in this firm flaccid. However, I know for myself the reason why the muscles are so tense is that their is a nerve injury in my penis. This was basically confirmed when I started to massage my penis a few days ago and it went immediately back to the firm flaccid state when it felt like I hit a nerve wrong. A poster earlier in this thread named chrono basically had the same idea of nerve damage in the penis causing everything to tense up. The advice that worked for him was to stop masturbating for several months.

I suspect for a lot of us it is the actual nerve damage in the penis that caused the muscles to tense up. This makes sense since a lot of individuals on this site have gotten the firm flaccid from jelqing. But even if this is the case doing these exercises will still help us a great deal. I just know for myself though that this condition will not be fully corrected until the nerve damage in my penis has healed.

I am curious as to where you were able to find a pelvic floor specialist? This does not seem like a professional that would be easy to find, but I would love to consult one. Also, I am curious as to why muscle relaxers do not work for this condition?

These are all theories, I will write all possible causes.

Venous Leak
Peryones(sp)
Prostate Enlarged
Tear in the place by your ass can’t remember name
Nerve Damage

Since doing those pirformis stretches I’ve been having some good days when it comes to the firm flaccid, but I still occasionally get it. It’s hot and humid today and I should be completely relaxed down there but I’m going through the firm flaccid right now.

I’d like to know if anybody else has these weird symptoms:

- In the middle of the top of the shaft, right under the circumcision scar, it feels like the blood flow is being blocked by something and won’t go any further. This could be plaque/peyronies but that causes a bend and I don’t have that, my shaft is flexible.

- Last year when I began jelqing my whole penis would turn bright red during and after a session. Now when I jelq I notice that most of the shaft turns a reddish/purple color but the bottom of the shaft on the top remains a peachy skin color, in the shape of a circle.

Does anybody else have these symptoms?

4/20/10 - BPEL - 7.5 EL - 7.0 EG - 5.6-5.9 depending on EQ

Why the heck you still jelqing

To get the blood flowing again.

I stopped doing jelqing when this happened, along with clamping and all other PE exercises. It made things worse.

Around February I tried Erection Tea (Green tea with ginger root and lemon) and that apple juice/cayenne pepper/lemon concoction. I started seeing improvements.

In March I bought a cheap plastic pump, which brought my erections back. I jelq before and after 5 minute sessions, and I see that peachy skin color when I do this.

Then I started doing those pelvic muscle stretches a month or two later and released some tension down there. From time to time my penis will return to it’s original plump form but if I leave it alone it’ll go back to the firm flaccid after a while.

I’m not jelqing to PE, I’m jelqing (slightly) to bring back EQ and so far it’s working.

Havent checked in here for a while..

I had the firm flaccid really bad for a couple weeks.. I was totally messed up with anxiety.. Which wasn’t healthy.. I was afriad my penis would never get hard again..

Then after a couple weeks of leaving it a lot.. It suddenly started working better again (erections)..

Now I’ve reached a state where I can get good erections pretty normally.. And my penis very rarely feels firm flaccid..

However, there has been a change .. It’s not quite like it used to be, and I’m not sure if it ever will be to be honest. It feels harder when I Get an erection, not necessarily in a good way, more like it’s actually hard like a piece of wood.. Thers also maybe slightly less sensation, and the glans doesnt get quite as plump as it once did.. Also noticed maybe a very small decrease in overall length. Which of course is hard to accept.. But it’s so minor it truly makes no difference.

None the less. I am happy to have a functional penis again. It’s not 100% where I want it to be, but I can live with this.. I would have had a hard time living with it in it’s original state.

I have noticed though, that when I go through a period of stress, anxiety or physical stress it can bring back the hard flaccid somewhat.. Luckily it only lasts a short time normally.

This means to me there is some connection with stress/anxiety and hormones/neurotransmitters.. Then again, it could just be the penis shrinking up normally, as it always has, during times of stress.. Yet it feels firmer/harder because thers a layer of fibrous tissue covering the penis that wasn’t there before.. This is also a good possibility to me.. If anything it may be both of them combined.. Some type of change in the tissue of the penis + stress hormones.

I believe everyone can reach a satisfactory state of functioning.. Hard to say whether things can ever go back 100% to the way they were before. We will keep trying, but it’s best to try and accept things sometimes.. Otherwise life just becomes a nightmare.

Anyone been to a urol what they say?

Did the sensation get better with time or has the sensation been the same since you initially received this injury?
