Hello, I started jelqing for the first time in my life 12 days ago.

After 9 days I got a a small dark purple spot just under my glans which I suppose was a burst blood vessel so I stopped jelqing for 2 days until it was gone.

Yesterday I started again but about 1 hour after my jelqing I felt a vague pain under my penis at the bottom of the shaft so I went to the mirror to take a look and what I see is a pretty big area under my dick that is “dark blue/grey”, it actually looks like a big bruise.

So, what is this? Do I need to worry?

My jelqing routine is the following

Warmup: 5-10 minutes in the shower with hot water and some bending and pulling.

Jelqing: 10 minutes of basic “ok-grip” jelq (lubricated).

Warm down: a hot shower or bath.

I’ve been doing it everyday, except for the 2 days I rested to get rid of the dark purple spot.

Have my pressure maybe been to hard?

Now when I think about it, I might have been 80-90% hard the last 2 minutes of my jelqing last night and from what I have read jelqing with to much blood in the penis is risky, right?

And one more question, does jelqing really work? I have read alot about it but I’m actually not fully convinced yet.

Those are blood spots, no long term consequences. But you have to ease up your grip bro. And avoid an OK grip, better a C grip (on the sides).

I’m guessing I should rest until it’s gone, right?

And why should I avoid the “ok-grip”?

Won’t the blood run back which will end up with a flacid penis if I use the C grip?

Is the C grip when you with 1 hand use the thump and point finger on the sides and with the other on the top and bottom?

Won’t the blood run back at top when you do the side strokes? And should you do on the top and bottom aswell?

Yes jelqing works, there are plenty of people here that will tell you that. You do need patience, it is a slow process.

The point of jelqing is to build internal pressure in the penis so that the tunica is stretched. Jelqing achieves this by pushing more blood into areas that don’t normally have that much blood.

It is necessary to have some blood flow, zero blood means cells will die.

Another way to think of it is no blood leaving the penis then jelqing would result in all the penis blood being forced into the glans and none would be in the shaft.

The c grip is designed to avoid the urethra part of the penis. Remember the penis is all soft tissue and the underside is even softer with a hollow tube running through it. Damaging the urethra is not good and leads to many problems so it is best avoided.

The anatomy of the penis is essentially two chambers side by side (think of your index and middle fingers held together). It is these chambers you want to target and gain expansion in. Hence there is no reason to squeeze the bottom.

Summary - ease up on your grip and use the c grip. Give you penis time to recover before starting again.

I have been experimenting and 3 days ago I jumped on the “newbie routine” here on the forum, the problem is that I got 3 small red spots on my dick (tiny burst capillaries) so I rested 48h and then they were gone.

So I got back at it again last night, but this time I ended up with a bigger blue spot.

I warm up properly and if I lighten up my grip even more then the blood will run back and I will end up with a flaccid penis, so my question is, is it ok to keep jelqing even if I have these red/blue spots?

You should be OK to keep jelqing, but if the red/blue spots get any worse as a result, try a stretch only routine until they go. Blood vessel weakness and discolouration seems to affect smokers, sedentary people, and those with a poor diet most. If none of those apply to you, eventually the blood vessels will get used to the pressure and shouldn’t be as fragile.


Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. And the ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth.

I’m a professional (natural) bodybuilder with more or less a perfect diet, my time outside of the gym is however pretty sedentary.
I don’t smoke but I do use “snus”, it’s something we have here in Sweden, you basically put tobacco under your lip and it contains much more nicotine then cigarettes so I guess it could be that.

Anyways, I went back it again 2 hours ago and the dark blue spot got worse, it hasn’t grown but it got a red color around it and became a bit darker.
I also got like 20+ tiny red spots on my glans, what is this?:p

You’re probably going at it a bit hard - ease off the pressure a bit. (typical bodybuilder haha!). Search ‘firegoat rolls’ as well. Hope it helps.

That’s the problem, if I ease off the pressure more it ends up flaccid =/
