Hey, this may seem like a silly question, but is there any proper way to do kegels? I’ve heard of many variations, such as many quick pulses or harder, sustained kegels. I just don’t know which way is best. I can kegel much harder and many more times when I’m erect (and maintain the erection), however, is this the best way to work out? Is it better to kegel when flacid and use more energy into making it a strong kegel?

Then a last question. Thinking about how people strength train with weights, has anyone ever done kegels with some sort of resistance or weights? A long time ago I remember reading that some adult film stars would lay a book on their penis and perform kegels. Does something like this work?

Put a wet towel on your erect state and kegel - known method. You won’t grow in size particularly, only your kegel muscle will grow some and you will be able to maintain erections easier.

I think all variations are good, quick, sustained, everything that your imagination allows. I do a lot of erect kegels during sex and encourage my partner to do so, too - that is fun and can become a very intimate and exciting ‘conversation’. For me, the most effective kegels are sustained kegels whilst hanging at my LOT-angle.

If I kegel while hanging SD, it stretches ligs even more, if I kegel while hanging SO, I can feel the base squeezing, and hopefully it will strengthen my base for a better erection.

I try to do them whenever I’m in the car; just normal kegels. I use weighted (with towels or manual pressure) during jelqing or uli work if I get too erect.
