Ejaculation hinders gains

Ejaculation hinders gains

I know the theory is that ejaculating right after PE hinders gains right? Mostly I’ve heard that this is because your testosterone levels drop significantly after ejaculation, and you need that testosterone to make gains. Personally, I ejaculate after a PE workout occasionally and I don’t know how much good that workout is after that. My guess is that it would affect the gains made from jelquing more than stretching.

Started 5.75 x 4.75 Goal: 7 x 6! <-- Started with a piglet, want a HOG

About half the time I fuck the wife after my jelq portion of my workout, the other half the time I do a bit of edging till I blow. I’m gaining.

Check it out guys, no need to have a big dick if you ain't gonna use it!!

When I first started PE, about a year ago, I used to do some manual stretching, then jelq and squeeze. After that, I used to take a nice hot shower and almost all the time, blow my load after my session. I had no problems gaining. Now, I do a much more intense workout and am too sore afterwards to masterbate. I like keeping the “puffy” look after I do girth work for a couple of hours and then if I want, I’ll finish off. Other than that, never let PE get in the way of sex. There’s no point in working on our units unless we can use them. I also believe that by having sex and masterbating, we are using are dicks and keeping them active, and therefore helping out with gains and keeping permanent gains.

getting bigger...

I remember reading somewhere, that testosterone levels are higher after ejaculation. If that is correct, it may help gains.

********** I dont make my dick grow, I give it the stimulus, then ask it to. What dont kill ya, only makes ya stronger

This is the burning question. When I blow a load after or during a workout I feel worthless like I just wasted a session. Its nice to read this post to make me a little less worried adout hindering gains.

KEEP IT UP

I know it isn’t specific to what we do here but Here’s the answer .

First, I doubt high T is needed to make gains. We’re stretching tissue, not growing muscle.

The rumor about ejaculation hindering gains apparently stems from one or more pay PE sites. IMO, the only reason for not blowing a load is to maintain better size immediately post-workout. I don’t think it makes any difference one way or the other for permanent gains.

Concerning ejaculation affecting testosterone level, check out the following abstract:

A research on the relationship between ejaculation and serum testosterone level in men.

Jiang M, Xin J, Zou Q, Shen JW.

Department of Life Science, Hangzhou Normal College, Hangzhou 310020, China. jiangmy@mail.hz.zj.cn

The purpose of this study is to gain understanding of the relationship between ejaculation and serum testosterone level in men. The serum testosterone concentrations of 28 volunteers were investigated daily during abstinence periods after ejaculation for two phases. The authors found that the fluctuations of testosterone levels from the 2nd to 5th day of abstinence were minimal. On the 7th day of abstinence, however, a clear peak of serum testosterone appeared, reaching 145.7% of the baseline ( P < 0.01). No regular fluctuation was observed following continuous abstinence after the peak. Ejaculation is the precondition and beginning of the special periodic serum testosterone level variations, which would not occur without ejaculation. The results showed that ejaculation-caused variations were characterized by a peak on the 7th day of abstinence; and that the effective time of an ejaculation is 7 days minimum. These data are the first to document the phenomenon of the periodic change in serum testosterone level; the correlation between ejaculation and periodic change in the serum testosterone level, and the pattern and characteristics of the periodic change.

Seven freakin’ days to maximize testosterone!! Screw that. There are other/better ways to bump up T if it is low. If it’s not low there’s no need to raise it.

Hormone levels vary a great deal throughout the day. Notice the percentages in this abstract:

Biological day-to-day variation and daytime changes of testosterone, follitropin, lutropin and oestradiol-17beta in healthy men.

Ahokoski O, Virtanen A, Huupponen R, Scheinin H, Salminen E, Kairisto V, Irjala K.

Department of Oncology and Radiotherapy, University of Turku, Finland. outi.ahokoski@utu.fi

Information on biological day-to-day variation is needed for detecting within-subject changes over time. In this study the daytime changes and the biological day-to-day variation of serum testosterone, follitropin, lutropin and oestradiol-17beta concentrations were investigated in 31 healthy males. To analyse daytime changes, blood specimens were taken at 0800 h, 1200 h, 1600 h and 2000 h during one day (n=31) and two days (n=8). The day-to-day variation was analysed from blood specimens collected at 0800 h on days 1 and 2 (n=31) and additionally on days 3, 4, 6 and 9 (n=8). The evaluation of the day-to-day variation was based on calculations of the within-subject (CVA+I) and between-subject (CV(G)) coefficients of variation. When the within-subject day-to-day variances were not too heterogeneous, they were used for the calculation of 95 % reference change limits. Serum testosterone and oestradiol-17beta concentrations showed a significant daytime variation; testosterone had higher serum concentrations at 0800 and 1200 h. A peak in the serum concentration of oestradiol-17beta occurred at 1200 h with a decrease towards the evening. There were no clear daytime changes in the serum concentrations of follitropin or lutropin. For different analytes the reference change limits were: serum testosterone +/- 32.0 %, serum follitropin +/- 24.1 % and serum oestradiol-17beta +/- 38.3 %. The reference change limit was not calculated for serum lutropin, as a high degree of heterogeneity and individuality was found. The interpretation of the results of hormone measurements requires recognition of the biological daytime and day-to-day changes of hormones. The reference change limits determine what changes are significant when monitoring the patient.

Endocrine response to masturbation-induced orgasm in healthy men following a 3-week sexual abstinence.

Exton MS, Kruger TH, Bursch N, Haake P, Knapp W, Schedlowski M, Hartmann U.

Institut fur Medizinische Psychologie, Universitatsklinikum Essen, Germany. michael.exton@uni-essen.de

This current study examined the effect of a 3-week period of sexual abstinence on the neuroendocrine response to masturbation-induced orgasm. Hormonal and cardiovascular parameters were examined in ten healthy adult men during sexual arousal and masturbation- induced orgasm. Blood was drawn continuously and cardiovascular parameters were constantly monitored. This procedure was conducted for each participant twice, both before and after a 3-week period of sexual abstinence. Plasma was subsequently analysed for concentrations of adrenaline, noradrenaline, cortisol, prolactin, luteinizing hormone and testosterone concentrations. Orgasm increased blood pressure, heart rate, plasma catecholamines and prolactin. These effects were observed both before and after sexual abstinence. In contrast, although plasma testosterone was unaltered by orgasm, higher testosterone concentrations were observed following the period of abstinence. These data demonstrate that acute abstinence does not change the neuroendocrine response to orgasm but does produce elevated levels of testosterone in males.

Yes, can we put this myth to sleep please? Testosterone level does not decrease with ejaculation and ejaculation in general should have no effect on gains. Jerk away!

Neuroendocrine and cardiovascular response to sexual arousal and orgasm in men.

Kruger T, Exton MS, Pawlak C, von zur Muhlen A, Hartmann U, Schedlowski M.

Division of Clinical Psychiatry, Hannover Medical School, Federal Republic of Germany.

Data regarding the neuroendocrine response pattern to sexual arousal and orgasm in man are inconsistent. In this study, ten healthy male volunteers were continuously monitored for their cardiovascular and neuroendocrine response to sexual arousal and orgasm. Blood was continuously drawn before, during and after masturbation-induced orgasm and analyzed for plasma concentrations of adrenaline, noradrenaline, cortisol, luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), prolactin, growth hormone (GH), beta-endorphin and testosterone. Orgasm induced transient increases in heart rate, blood pressure and noradrenaline plasma levels. Prolactin plasma levels increased during orgasm and remained elevated 30 min after orgasm. In contrast, none of the other endocrine variables were significantly affected by sexual arousal and orgasm.

I don’t want to put it to sleep. I want it killed - completely eradicated, never to return. Slim chance that’ll happen, eh?

westla90069,

Maybe I read it wrong but when it said

“higher testosterone concentrations were observed following the period of abstinence. These data demonstrate that acute abstinence does not change the neuroendocrine response to orgasm but DOES produce elevated levels of testosterone in males.”

I took that to mean that continued masturbation does lower testosterone levels. However, I do not believe it has too much to do with PE. That is to say you don’t have to stop masturbating to gain. Look at weightlifting you might have a little more trouble getting a lift the day after masturbation but thats about it. Testosterone levels are not an all encompassing determining factor to weight lifting or PE. You can gain regardless. However I would say with lifting hormones have an effect greater than in PE, you can tell a noticeable difference between those weightlifters on roids and those not.

Going for 9

My reading of it.

The sentence before that one reads, “…plasma testosterone was unaltered by orgasm.” My understanding is this. Sperm is released by ejaculation. Testosterone is needed for sperm production. The body increases testosterone after ejaculation in order to build more sperm. The response to abstinence in the studies was an increased level of testosterone, but that does not mean that the level was below normal after orgasm. It just means that more T is produced after orgasm or during periods of abstinence.

Many of the members here have spouses or girlfriends with whom they regularly have sex. Many of them are showing gains. I don’t think there’s any correlation between ejaculation and gains. It’s a myth.

Good points westa, I haven’t really been worried, but I just wanted to bring all this up. I’ve had pretty good gains in the last few months and my relationship with my girlfriend is pretty new and we have sex everyday. It certainly would be a waste to make gains and never use them.
