Consistent Measuring

The best method of tracking gains – or no gains – is by employing a consistent measuring technique. This is far more important to the individual than for any “posting” reasons at the forum.

1) Try getting your unit as hard as possible. View your favorite porn, do some jerking – actually, “edging” – so you’re as big as you can possibly get.

2) Take a ruler, not a tape measure, and line up the inner edge (with the hash marks on it) with your pisshole (the center of your penis).

3) Push the ruler into your pubis as far as you can, even to the point of discomfort/pain, and kegel as hard as you can – to affect full inflation.

4) Note the measurement – also note the extent of “ruler creep” on your particular ruler (that area of blank space at the beginning of the ruler that does not tally any length). That can vary quite a bit from one ruler to the next.

5) Take a few more measurements over the next couple days. If there’s any variance, try to duplicate the largest measurement….that’s your “size.”

Personally, I measure while sitting before my computer (with some porn, hehe). And I’m sitting straight up. I use a metric ruler, because mm’s are more precise. Then I do a decimal conversion (1” = 25.4 mm) – including “ruler creep”, which I’ve measured with a second ruler. I also measure topside, with the ruler deeply pressed, trying to line up the measuring hashes with my pisshole.

The reason for the ritual is that I don’t want to fall victim to any self-delusion (such as “aggressive measuring”). We can do this subconsciously – not to “lie” to the members of our forum, but because we want to see gains for so much work, so we’re subconsciously manipulating the variables to see an “increase.”

The above method is probably the surest way to prevent self-delusion.

I agree completely. Manipulating the variables is very easy and tempting. Amazing how the ego gets involved even in this fairly straight forward task. I had to create “measuring sticks” to track progress and avoid cheating. Currently, I am using chop sticks that are exactly 8 inches long. There are no measurements on the chop sticks. They are my target length and so when I measure, I see how far I have left to go. This keeps me from fixating on some phantom 1/16 inch of gain I might see on a ruler and helps me focus on my real goal. Somehow it gives me more motivation to look down and see a small section of chop stick protruding beyond the end of my dick. Makes me want to go and stretch it that much more to cover that extra piece of chop stick.

I also measure every day to get extra motivation and for honesty. When you measure every day, you can’t keep doing aggressive measurements. You find out very quickly what the real measurement is day after day. And of course there’s a little excitement when you measure extra long one day and find that it wasn’t a mistake when you measure the next day and the next day to the same length.

Reading back over this, I realize it sounds kind of silly, but it keeps me motivated and keeps me growing - slowly but surely. In fact it’s about time to pull out the old chop sticks.

It may seem obvious to some of the vets, but to anyone new it wouldn’t be. When I 1st started I wouldn’t have thought to keep things very consistent.

That is a great idea. I think that I will cut a piece of wood and just put a little pencil line on it instead of using a ruler, from now on.

Oh and thanks for the “titanflex bend” you invented. I’ve been using it on bathroom breaks at work……as a matter of fact, I am doing to do one right now.

I only measure maybe once every 3 or 4 months, If I measure to often I find it depressing when I have no gains. I try to measure the same way all the time though. I’m starting to have a problem measuring from the top because the root of my dick is getting wider from hanging so much

Nice post Wad, very well written and easy to understand. I have stored this thread in my favorites and will be referencing it often I’m sure.

Coincidentally, you posted this on my measuring day. I have been extremely careful in the consistency of my measurements. I have taken 3 days off to let any residual fluid build-up dissipate in preparation for today’s measuring. No point in trying to lie to yourself when deep down you know the truth.

I get very different results if I am sitting/standing.

I agree with you, about the different results seen from a measurement attempt.

The last few times I have measured myself, I tried doing it without an erection. This method also takes into account, the temporary size increases from stretching. If I am all stretched out, I could probably pull it out, as much as 3/4 of an inch longer than my actual size if I really pulled hard. So, this is something to do in the morning after waking up, after the erection goes down if have one. I sit on the edge of my bed, and pull it out, parallel to the floor with moderate tension. I try to remember just how hard I am pulling on it, so I can do it the same way the next time. It’s not all that accurate, but by comparison, you can see if you are gaining.
