Arginine

Wanted to ask you guys who used arginine for improved blood flow and what was the dosages and time used to see results

1000mg

I started with 1000 mg and saw an immediate response, like within a week, better erections. I increased it to the max, 5000 mg. (I’m not sure why) and saw no change. I guess I did that because at the time I still had high blood pressure, but improved erections. I now have perfect blood pressure, but I’m not impressed with erections. I wonder if this stuff is supposed to cycled on and off?

I think l-citrulline is even better

I’ve heard that. Do you use both, or just L-Citrulline? Because I heard that L-Arginine needs L-Citulline for it to be really effective.

Never used any

Difference between Arginine and AAKG?

Exactly what the title says. What’s the difference?

The real truth on NO :

Summary

• Arginine blood flow stimulators ("nitric-oxide" or "NO2" supplements) have been shown to increase vasodilation, but only in unfed people receiving enormous doses through an IV.

• Oral arginine supplementation doesn’t affect blood flow.

• A dose as low as 10 grams has been associated with gastric upset when consumed orally. This dose has no significant effect on glycogen storage, even if it didn’t cause diarrhea.

• Time release arginine is supposed to lead to a "perpetual pump" effect. New studies have shown this not to be the case.

• NO2 was shown to have no effect compared to a placebo on body composition or muscle strength.

• It’s not possible for us to consume high enough levels of arginine to effectively increase nitric oxide levels.

• Copycat NO2 products are no better than the original supplement. In fact, those that contain glycocyamine should be avoided because of potential health concerns.

• If you think these products work for you, then you’d better look into the placebo effect.

• Arginine might temporarily elevate growth hormone levels, but only if you’re able to take unrealistic doses. There’s little evidence to support that this short term increase in GH would do anything for your physique anyway.

• In one study, arginine aspartate was shown to increase prolactin by an average of 75%. Prolactin is associated with decreased Testosterone levels.

• Five grams of arginine consumed during resistance exercise was shown to decrease normal exercise-induced GH output.

• The positive benefits of oral arginine supplementation can only be achieved through doses higher than the human body can handle. And most (but not all) of this effect is mediated by insulin. So if you want to have blood flow increases equivalent to a huge IV arginine infusion, just manipulate insulin through other means (which will be discussed in the next article.)

Stay tuned for Part II, coming tomorrow to T-Nation!

Thanks

Link to an actual study? In fact most of the thread you linked talks about arginine working. :-Y

Nothing

Saw many positive comments about arginine I thought I would try it. Ordered from Walmart,
Supplied by TonZof. Bottle says Natrol.

1. The ad by Tonzof copies the bottle saying 3000mg. Turns out
They are 1000mg pills. I was tricked. Other ADS for this product clearly say the 3000 is for 3 pills
2. I tried doses from one pill to 3 at a time 3x a day (9000mg) and had nothing positive.
3. It is supposed to lower BP. For me it raised. My normal is 114/78
After taking arginine it was 122/84. Max numbers recommended are 120/80.
4. Although warned against combining, I added Viagra and Tadalafil to the mix.
If anything the arginine just dulled their effect

Just my results. You may experience something different.

I’ve been taking 5gm morning and night and EQ is really great. Shooting power also real good.

You can try cycle Monday to Friday and off Sat/ Sunday. I have High blood pressure and am now off all chemical meds. I take 1000mg L-Citruline, 5000mg Arginine and 2000mg L- Ornithine twice daily

I used 2000-4000 of L-Arginine for about a year and didn’t see much difference even when I used Viagra or Cialis. It wasn’t until I added 1000 Acetyl L-Carnitine that I saw a big difference in erection quality.

Anyone tried AAKG. I believe it’s a type of l-arginine, but gets into your system faster (?).

Anyway, I’m trying to last longer in bed and read on another forum a list if supplements which are supposed to help prevent premature ejaculation.

I’ve tried Horny Goat Weed and Gingko biloba and all they did was cause acne. So I have now bought some AAKG 1250mg and am about to start taking it.

Has anybody tried it? And does it make you last longer?

Aakg is supposed to be better, never taken it myself though.

As far as erections+lasting longer I say take some cialis/viagra & dapoxetene.
